IMO Marketing teams spend way too much time reporting out on tactic performance and not nearly enough time on the holistic view of how the entire marketing team is contributing towards revenue. The cross-functional teams I work with regularly are sick of me constantly waving the "roll up to Pipeline and Revenue" flag. (Actually, they may not be sick of it, I haven't asked them directly - but it happens multiple times daily, so I wouldn't blame them) Whether they are or aren't I won't apologize for it - aligning tactical results with key business objectives is critical! If you miss the bigger picture, you’re not fully understanding how your efforts are driving growth. Tell the whole story as best you can. There will always be gaps in the data, attribution or influenced customer journey and that's ok. The more you can consolidate your marketing strategy into one storyline the more impact you will have across all marketing functions. #teamdevelopment #growthmarketing #marketingstrategy
