This is the progression from average to elite when it comes to resumes and interviewing 👇 Average Sales Reps: No numbers or awards on their resume. They just explain their responsibilities Good Sales Reps: Numbers and awards on their resume. They are clearly successful, but when it comes to interview time that can't explain why. Great Sales Reps: Numbers and awards on their resume, and can clearly articulate why they have been successful. ELITE Sales Reps: Numbers, awards, can articulate why they are successful and can teach other people how to also be successful in their job. There are some other factors of course, but at the end of the day this is the real stuff. Can you explain why you are good? A great rep can transform a territory. A great rep who can teach can transform a region and sometimes an entire company. So while you're out there dominating - pay attention and take note of why and how things went well. If you want to get promoted to AE, You need to have AE skills. And, unfortunately, most SDRs don't have them. Why? Because the SDR role and the AE role are very very different. If you just focus on developing your skills as an SDR and expect to get promoted to AE, You're kidding yourself. You'll get better as an SDR (which is table stakes for promotion), But you won't show you're ready for the next step. So how do you develop AE skills? By doing AE work. This means running calls. And it doesn't have to be customer calls right off the bat. Here's a strategy that worked for me: Schedule a mock call with a different person internally every week. There are 3 big advantages of this: 1️⃣ You get experience running calls and then get quick feedback on where you can improve 2️⃣ You get to work with different personalities and get different perspectives on how to best run a call 3️⃣ Word will get around internally that you're working on your AE skills, which will improve your internal personal brand This is how you take control of your own development. There are a lot of competition for these spots, So you need to make your promotion a no-brainer. There's no better way to do that than to do the job before you actually get it. #sdr #bdr #ae #sales #growth

To all SDRs or anyone entering B2B sales, read this post to avoid falling into common traps. 1. The most successful AEs I have met were the best SDRs. 2. SDRs who didn’t excel in the role and are now AEs are still struggling to generate their own pipeline. 3. AEs who skipped the SDR role, often due to an MBA or strong interview skills, fear switching jobs and roles without inbound leads. They’ve never faced the grind of building a pipeline from scratch, filled with rejections. 4. AEs who have never been an SDR majorly rely on their SDRs or Inbound leads from marketing to help them build pipeline and if any Quarter they don't get inbound or enough meetings from SDRs they sh** in their pants. 5. When these AEs become managers, they often question their team—"Where are the numbers?" or "Why isn’t there a pipeline?"—instead of guiding them on building it. Lacking experience in pipeline generation, they fail to lead by example and eventually lose the respect of their team. Learn the art and science of being an SDR and excel at this job at any cost, you will never have to look back or depend on anyone for pipeline EVER. Prospecting and Generating Pipelines is fundamental to Sales whether you are an SDR, AE, Sr Manager, or VP if you don't know how to do OUTBOUND you will continuously live a sales life of fear and anxiety. People don’t realize what “closing skills” are in sales, and they’re not “is persuasive.” Reps with closing skills CONSISTENTLY know, can choreograph and advise on how the deal gets signed and returned. And their forecast accuracy reflects those skills.

I’ve had a number of younger PEO sales reps reach out to me recently and asking for advice on building more value on their sales process. They say their managers just have them focusing on feature selling and saving money, and when you do that, it’s just a numbers game. I talk to them about building the ROI case and COI case to move up the client’s timeline and show the value of our industry and then discuss with them how to ask questions to discover the COI for the client. We all know to make it an emotional sell but if you don’t back up the emotional with the logic and only feature sell, then you’re not going to close a very high percentage of deals. If you are a young rep, ask you manager on help with this aspect and watch your numbers soar!!!! 📈 **ROI (Return on Investment)** - ROI quantifies the direct benefits clients receive from investing in PEO services. This includes cost savings from reduced HR overhead, compliance, payroll management, and improved employee benefits offerings. Expressing ROI in clear numbers helps clients see the tangible value a PEO provides, enhancing their confidence in the decision to invest. 🚫 **COI (Cost of Inaction)** - COI, on the other hand, highlights the potential losses and risks a client faces by not using a PEO. This could be in the form of higher operational costs, compliance penalties, or missed opportunities for strategic HR management and growth. COI paints a picture of the risks and hidden costs that come with maintaining the status quo. Hiring SDRs? Before you do: - Hire an SDR Manager - Hire SDRs in pairs (2 minimum) - Pick the right tech stack (Outreach, etc.) - Have a 2-3 week intensive onboarding plan and long term training plan - Set a ramp quota target 🎯 Don’t assume 1 SDR = X amount of meetings There’s a testing phase☝🏼 - Hire an entrepreneurial spirit for your first few SDRs - Establish realistic KPIs and metrics.
