Robinhood acquiring TradePMR for $300m Big move by Robinhood further entering the wewltht management space. TradePMR’s established network of 350 firms and decades of experience in RIA custodial services offer Robinhood a solid foundation to build its new advisory capabilities. Commenting about the planned acquisition, Vlad Tenev, said: “The TradePMR team has one of the strongest RIA networks in the industry. We’re excited to join forces to build a category-defining advisory platform for the next generation.” Additionally, Robinhood and TradePMR aim to create a referral program that connects fiduciary advisors to Robinhood’s expansive customer base. This collaboration seeks to help advisors grow their businesses and offer Robinhood users easier access to professional financial advice.

Terraform Labs and Do Kwon Reach Tentative Settlement with SEC over Allegations of Misleading Investors Terraform Labs and its founder, Do Kwon, have agreed to a tentative settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding accusations of misleading cryptocurrency investors before the collapse of the stablecoin TerraUSD in 2022. The SEC had alleged that Terraform falsely stated that its blockchain was utilized in a popular Korean mobile payment app. While the specifics of the settlement have not been disclosed, both parties have been instructed to submit supporting documents by June 12. The collapse of TerraUSD and its associated token, Luna, resulted in over $40 billion in investor losses. Initially, the SEC sought a $5.3 billion relinquishment from stablecoin sales and fines of $420 million for the company and $100 million for Kwon. However, Terraform Labs and Kwon have proposed considerably lower penalties.
