  • Partial anomalous left pulmonary venous connection to a vertical vein with a tortuous wraparound of the left pulmonary artery

    We report the case of an unusual course of total left anomalous pulmonary venous return to a vertical vein with tortuous wraparound of the pulmonary artery causing dynamic obstruction. We demonstrate CT angiography as the imaging modality of choice.

    Hospitals vary in their configuration of code cart contents which may lead to a lack of comfort in code events by new hospital personnel. Hands on training on code cart contents for new providers consumes time and resources. Our objective is to create an online interactive code cart tutorial as an intervention to improve hospital personnel’s comfort, satisfaction, and familiarity of our institution’s code cart contents.

  • 717: 7 Year Old Female with Hypovolemic Shock Secondary to a Gastric Trichobezoar

    Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. 20(6): 711–721, November 2012

    Trichotillomania and trichophagia leading to trichobezoar development and small bowel obstruction has been reported in the literature. We report the case of a patient with compression of the renal arteries and pancreatitis that resulted in hypovolemic shock secondary to a gastric trichobezoar.
