MSP Sales Tactic #1 Revisit closed lost opportunities in the past 48-months. Why? More than likely, if you weren’t running a drip campaign to stay top of mind things have changed in their business. They might be experiencing issues with the vendor. They might have experienced a security breach. They might have grown faster than their current IT vendor can support. There’s a bunch of reasons it’s beneficial for you to reach back out. And worst case scenario, if there’s no current opportunity at least you’ll be on their radar for the next evaluation.

One trend that Cribl sees in our data is that the longer IT and Security teams have options, the more they take advantage of them. This is certainly true with SIEM. If you haven't heard.. H&R Block is having massive server issues and filers are getting Gateway Not Found errors since I think 9pm last night (when I tried to file!). Bene up since 4am trying to file (getting pinged $21.73 each time) and its infuriating. Not that clicking "send" is a problem, its the lack of communication from the company on any, any platform. It is interesting as this same thing happened with DISH Networks not too long ago where a catastrophic issue hit and there was no communication for a long, long time with customers. I left them shortly after and haven't been back. Same with this issue which I expect many will leave for 2024/2025 season. Just check Downdetector or any of the other sites and there are 1000's of people stressing out, as they should. It struck me in the context from attending SecureWorld last week where I made a point of attending one of the breakouts with law enforcement which I always like to do and in tandem with earlier sessions, a common theme that "it isnt a question IF it will happen, but WHEN it will happen and what is your plan when it does" was hammered home by a range of panelist's. it is obvious to any outside observer H&R was caught hands down unprepared. How can you have an issue on TAX DAY and not have a process in place to inform clients. Is this a Ransomware attack, is my data at risk or is this simply a server farm getting fried in some freak situation? We don't know and that's the problem. Leaving clients to surf the web for 18 hours for news on an event is absolutely crazy. The same reason you didn't hit that new customer quota this year is probably the same reason you kept that bad-attitude employee around for another year.🤔 #SpicyMonday🌶️ Last week I had the fortunate position to hang out with an MSP and facilitate their annual planning meeting. Long story short, they've achieved 20% growth (CAGR) over the last few years. Their secret sauce 🥫? 👉Discipline (extra spicy) Not the sauce you thought I was gonna say? Time for the long winded explanation ⬇️ For most of us, building relationships is an exhausting task that we simply never have time for. Or this is the excuse I hear over and over again. But then that bottleneck stops your entire growth engine in its tracks. Without meeting enough new people, you're never going to have the options and depth of potential customers, connectors, or candidates for your organization to grow the way you want it to. ...and to be frank, you're probably ok with that as you hate meeting people on a daily basis. This is why I always like the idea that the #1🥇 KPI for a CEO to be: '# of new friends per week'. If you're constantly meeting new people, regardless of the rejection, weirdos, or 'ick' that is associated with networking, you will always have a plethora of options when you need to 'make the call'. But it's the ability to live through the suck (that extra side of discipline) that allows you to build up that stable of options. ...and when you have a stable of options, you're only 1 phone call away from that next event, employee, or customer. ➡️ So now that bad-attitude employee is on notice as you have that excited candidate you met at the store thatmay not have all the skillz, is ready, willing and able (to learn). How do you build time into your week to network?
