The orange machine keeps on rolling Hubspot grew ARR 20% YoY Up to $2.6B Operating margin improvements - reduced operating loss to $9.6M for the quarter (from $18.5M) They got there through slight decreases in S&M spend. Reducing spend here from 48.7% of rev down to 46.3% GTM efficiency was unchanged CAC payback is 33 months and Magic Number is at 0.42 Still really strong Free Cash Flow $160M for the quarter. Or a 23.8% FCF margin up from 16% in Q3 last year. But I think the biggest thing here for hubspot is the growth rate is continuing to decline. This is the 14 consecutive Qtrs in which ARR growth has declined.  Now as a company scales we expect growth rates to decline but probably not as consistently as we see here. Hubspot are blaming this on what they call a "value-conscious buying environment". But that doesn't seem to be the case for everyone Palantir grew 30% Klaviyo, Monday and Crowdstrike all grew more than 30% last quarter. Guidance for Q4 growth is just 15%. They likely need to find a way to accelerate this growth - they've got a huge market - multi-product -- seeing growth dip into the low teens would be disappointing

Some good ideas and debatable topics here. We're just superficially implementing AI on the surface of existing CRM systems today. A16Z suggests that AI threatens the underlying fabric of CRM, relational databases, by optimizing storage of customer information in a multi-modal format that is more conducive to agent-based communications. And that the next generation of Sales and Service apps will leverage this architecture. Thoughts or questions?
