Chronic disease management has been a significant driver of healthcare utilization over the last decade, particularly for Type 2 Diabetes (T2D)—one of the most expensive chronic diseases in the U.S. In response, MVC recently partnered with the Michigan Collaborative for Type 2 Diabetes (MCT2D) to produce a comprehensive statewide report on T2D, which impacts over 1 million adults in Michigan. The findings of this report were presented at the Michigan Obesity Summit, offering crucial insights into the demographics, healthcare utilization, and prescription patterns among patients with T2D in Michigan, insured by various providers from 2017 to 2023.
