This week, as we head back to the Super Bowl of Black Policy—CBCF Week in DC—I’m reminded by this Season 1 clip of how complex it is to be an entrepreneur, a social impact strategist and Black. In unique ways, traditional business models and frameworks weren’t created with our success in mind. As a strategist, my mind is always trying to figure out the following: 1. How can we design parallel catalytic movements to ensure that on the other side of pitch competitions and accelerators, mass wealth is a possibility for the majority, not just the unicorns? 2. And speaking of unicorns, is that mindset really helping or exacerbating the current business conditions which historically have excluded marginalized communities? 3. And because innovation is often a response to both curiousity and need, how can we better shine the many ways our communities problem solve—even if they don’t look shiny or polished? Excited that so many of you have joined us on this journey! And looking forward to recording “From Chains to Links” Season 2 with even more brilliant minds this week in DC at The Gathering Spot. #BIAontheHill #ALC53 #CBCF #podcast #innovation

This article from Black Enterprise Magazine came at the right time! As the former Executive Director and now CEO of End Rape On Campus (EROC), I've had the privilege of working with various leadership coaches. Today, my needs as a leader have evolved, and I'm at a critical juncture in my journey of rebuilding EROC and honoring its legacy. Before any executive leadership coaches reach out to me, please note: I’ll reach out as I do my preliminary research. I know what I want and need, and I’m intentional about finding the right fit. Here’s a snippet of what I’m looking for: - A Black Executive Leadership Coach: My career journey has been shaped by having had at least 12 white supervisors, 95% of whom were women-identified. Only one has consistently supported and mentored me, exemplifying true allyship. I seek a Black Executive Leadership Coach who understands the challenges I’ve faced and has successfully navigated similar experiences. Their insights on how they found their strength, will, and motivation will be invaluable as I chart my path forward. - Coaching Style: I need a coach with an authentic, supportive, and direct approach. Someone who isn’t afraid to ask tough questions, respectfully challenge me, and guide me towards an authentic and appropriate direction. - Current Goal: My vision is ambitious: to lead EROC through a $1 Million+ transformation. I need a coach who can help translate my ideas and drafts into a strategic and realistic pathway. I aim to ensure EROC’s sustainability and empower future staff to carry forward its mission with drive and motivation. - Investment: While I deeply desire to invest in myself or have my organization support me, it’s not feasible at this moment. However, this is a need I am committed to fulfilling. QUESTION: I'm curious to learn from YOU, reader, who have had/currently have an executive leadership coach, what you have found to be rewarding in your journey? Thank you for your attention to my post and support as I embark on this exciting chapter. Got to catch up with Lawrence Gilliam at a co-working space that he co-owns with some friends in the Leimert Park area of Los Angeles. Per The Metaphor Club . com website, it's "an intentional Black space that affirms community. It’s Ph.D. students working on their dissertation. Small businesswomen meeting clients. Writers getting their scripts read. Workshops on finances. Debates on politics." And, in Lawrence's case, an ERP nerd demoing Acumatica to prospects. Lawrence and I worked together at NexTec Group many years ago and he's still one of the smartest people that I know in the ERP space. With a Bachelor's degree from Stanford and a Master's degree from Michigan ("ichigan" as my kids say), he's got oodles of tech knowledge, but it's his equal measures of soft skills that, in my opinion, make him one of the best Acumatica solutions consultants out there. Lawrence, you're on my list for a TRAILD demo environment setup that's connected to your Acumatica demo environment. Chris Joco is ahead of you in line though and he can tell you that it's taking us longer than originally planned, but that's because we're taking the time to do it right so we have a solid process in place for rolling TRAILD demo environments out to Acumatica partners internationally as we continue to enable the TRAILD partner channel to demo TRAILD to the masses in 2025. #Acumatica #ERP #CloudERP #TravelingTRAILD

"Unapologetically Leading: The Black Women's Mixtape" is more than a platform, it’s a vibe and a community where we celebrate the stories and journeys of Black women leaders. Through centering their narratives, we aim to inspire connections and uplift voices that are often overlooked or stereotypically defined. "Unapologetically Leading" amplifies Black women by giving them space to take center stage and own their narratives and how they are shown to the world. Why the play on the word mixtape? Because we hope to curate an authentic and transparent look at their experiences, perspectives, and insights, noting that each narrative will be different, similar to the diverse tracks on your favorite album/mixtape. Ultimately, "Unapologetically Leading: The Black Women's Mixtape" isn't just about sharing stories; it's about reclaiming agency, and redefining what it means to lead unapologetically as a Black woman in today's world. If you are interested in sharing your story either through writing a piece or by being interviewed fill out the form below and share it with your network 💜 EDIT: This will close tomorrow at noon. #BlackWomenLeaders #CenteringBlackVoices #RedefiningLeadership #Leadership #Storytelling

Manuel V Manuel , and the LAT exceptional team, along with all the distinguished speakers who have joined us for what is a truly unprecedented leadership week. This event, which I am proud to name as worthy of a Guinness World Record, stands unparalleled in its scope and impact, spanning across multiple media and tabloids in a manner never before seen in history." Ashkan Tabibnia✔️ Tabibnia The Legacy Architect As we wrap up our trilogy on ethical leadership, it's time to peer into the horizon and imagine the legacy we wish to create. This journey has led us through the heart of leadership, the power of ethical principles, and now, to the promise of the future. The path to shaping the future with ethical leadership is clear and compelling. Here are the pillars upon which we build our tomorrow: - **Vision for Tomorrow:** Ethical leaders craft visions that resonate far beyond the confines of their organizations, aiming to positively impact society and our world at large. - **Living Legacies:** Think about the mark you wish to leave on the world. How will future leaders remember and build upon your contributions? Today's actions are the seeds of tomorrow's legacy. - **Empowering the Next Wave:** It's about equipping the future leaders with not just knowledge, but the ethical compass to navigate the uncertainties of tomorrow. Mentorship and development are key. - **Technology with a Conscience:** In an era of rapid technological evolution, ethical leaders must spearhead responsible innovation, ensuring technologies serve humanity's best interests. - **Champions of Sustainability:** Committing to sustainability and social responsibility defines the ethos of ethical leadership, safeguarding our planet and its people for generations to come. - **Unity in Diversity:** The future of ethical leadership is inherently inclusive, valuing diversity as a cornerstone of strength and innovation. As we stand at this pivotal juncture, looking from the present into the future, we recognize that ethical leadership is not just a path but a mandate—an opportunity to sculpt a world where our legacies thrive as beacons for generations of leaders yet to come. Let's celebrate the culmination of our series, not as an end, but as a beacon for ongoing commitment to ethical leadership. Together, with over 200 world-class experts from every walk of life, we've embarked on a mission to inspire global change through positivity, mentorship, and service. Our collective vision and actions. Here's to forging ahead, empowering every leader to be a catalyst for positive, ethical change. The future is in our hands, and through ethical leadership, we have the power to shape it for the better. Ashkan Tabibnia 90210 Enterprise In Gratitude Los Angeles Tribune

Just to frame up this story clearer, only 1%-3% of all Venture Capital goes to women & people of color. I’m just sayin. This fund should not be hindered. Wanna good story? “Movie Pass/Movie Crash”. Watch it. Two black entrepreneurs found it, grow it to profitability, two old white men take it over and kick them out, then run the whole thing into the ground in SPECTACULAR fashion. Oh…they’re currently on trial for securities fraud😂 Spoiler!: the original black founders bought Movie Pass from the junk heap of Bankrupcy court, dusted it off, turned it profitable again! And it’s a huge win-win-win for studios, theater owners, consumers. Data analytics for studios, increased concessions for theaters, cheaper prices for consumers https://lnkd.in/gtXutkDX
