Trust for America's Health
CDC’s Office of Health Equity has articulated three principles to effectively communicate health equity concepts by creating a broader understanding of the social and structural factors that impact health outcomes. The principles are: Meet the audience where they are. Understand your audience’s beliefs and attitudes about health equity. Communicate health equity as a “we” issue. Build on shared values, show how equitable approaches can benefit everyone. Frame health equity as achievable. Breakout the concept of health equity into manageable, actionable steps. Stratifix
🌍 Strategy: The Foundation of Public Health Progress Public health is more than a field—it’s a commitment to protecting and improving communities' well-being. But achieving meaningful, lasting impact requires more than action. It requires strategy. At Stratifix, every public health initiative starts with a clear, evidence-based roadmap, from addressing social determinants of health to combating chronic diseases. Why does strategy matter in public health? ➡️ Public health operates at the intersection of complex systems: healthcare, education, housing, and policy, to name a few. Without a strategic framework, efforts can become fragmented, and resources stretched too thin. A strong strategy ensures alignment across stakeholders, clarity of purpose, and measurable outcomes. It transforms reactive solutions into proactive, scalable approaches. At Stratifix, we bring a unique perspective to public health strategy by integrating innovative thinking with data-driven insights. Our work focuses on crafting solutions that are not only effective but also equitable, addressing the root causes of disparities to create healthier, more resilient communities. How we approach public health strategy: ❗ Data at the Core: We leverage advanced analytics to identify health trends, target interventions, and measure success, ensuring every decision is grounded in evidence. ❗ Equity as a Guiding Principle: Our strategies prioritize reducing health disparities by focusing on underserved populations and creating access to resources and care. ❗ Collaboration as a Driver: We work with healthcare systems, community organizations, and policymakers to align efforts, maximize impact, and build sustainable programs. ❗ Adaptability for the Future: Public health is dynamic, and so are our strategies. We design solutions that can evolve alongside emerging challenges and opportunities. The results speak for themselves. Strategic public health initiatives have been shown to improve efficiency by as much as 40% and health outcomes by up to 30%. With thoughtful, evidence-based planning, public health efforts can go beyond addressing immediate needs to create transformative, systemic change. We'd love to partner with you if you’re ready to take your public health initiatives to the next level. Together, we can design and implement strategies that make a measurable difference in the lives of the people you serve. 📩 Let’s connect! Reach out to us at [email protected] to learn how Stratifix can support your mission for healthier, more equitable communities.

NHS Race & Health Observatory
"The elective care backlog affects some groups more than others, yet there is often more focus on geographic disparities than on race." The government’s long-awaited plan to reform elective care in the NHS has been published. While it’s promising to see a focus in the plan on tackling health inequalities, there is a need for greater attention on tackling stark racial health disparities. Our work has shown that structural barriers, including the decline in trust, must be addressed to ensure that improvements in elective care benefit everyone. Read our full response to the plan here: https://lnkd.in/eDM7dYgE #NHS #HealthInequalities #ElectiveCare #RacialDisparities #Inclusion

Learning for Action
Amplifying this resource on community engagement to advance health equity. Social justice movements are most effective when people with lived experience drive and shape the changes they want to see in their own communities. Many organizations value community engagement, and yet it can be difficult to do well. One of our Senior Consultants, Shahla de Leon, shares some of her reflections from the field, and this publication highlights similar lessons. What practices are others are observing that contribute to effective community engagement? #CommunityEngagement #HealthEquity

Population Health Innovation Lab
The Population Health Innovation Lab (PHIL), a program of the Public Health Institute, provides research and evaluation services, tools, and resources in support of multisector collaboratives, health departments, and diverse health partners through its MERLIN team. MERLIN connects multisector collaboratives and diverse partners with evidence to inform upstream, systems-level approaches that can drive measurable improvements in population health and equity. Building Resilient Communities: Insights from the RC Evaluation Resilience Catalysts in Public Health (RC) is a national collaborative of local health departments seeking to eliminate adversity, build resilience, and foster equity. Using the Community Resilience Framework aligned with the goals of Public Health 3.0, RC sites receive technical assistance (TA) to apply a public health approach to address adverse childhood experiences and adverse community environments. In April and May 2023, MERLIN conducted an evaluation of RC, surveying 29 individuals from 11 of the 13 RC sites and interviewing 19 individuals from nine sites and 14 TA providers/funders. Evaluation findings expand understanding of RC’s preliminary impact and inform implications for theory, practice, and funding in the post COVID-19 context. 🔗 View the evaluation report here ➡️ https://bit.ly/3Zyq76k 💡 Learn more about PHIL's MERLIN team ➡️ https://bit.ly/4fSzxiI

Dr.O’Bryan K. Hickman
The Bureaucracy of Government Entering the Medical Field and Perpetuating the Problem By Dr. Bryan K. Hickman, 2024 Healthcare in America is caught in a tangled web of bureaucracy, politics, and profit-driven motives that prioritize corporations over patients. The rise of PPOs and HMOs has created a system where hospitals and insurance companies exploit people rather than serve them. Patients are left struggling with inadequate coverage, while corporations grow increasingly frustrated with the red tape that hinders efficient care. The hostility between patients and insurers continues to escalate, with poor insurance plans leaving vulnerable populations with few options. Meanwhile, hospitals take advantage of a fragmented system, benefiting from overbilling and administrative loopholes. This isn’t just a corporate issue—it’s deeply political. Both the Senate and the House of Representatives, rather than streamlining healthcare, perpetuate the problem with policies that maintain the status quo. True reform requires addressing the systemic greed and inefficiency that have become entrenched in our healthcare system. Until then, patients will continue to pay the price. #TheBureaucracyOfGovernmentEnteringTheMedicalFieldAndPerpetuatingTheProblem All rights reserved, Dr. Bryan K. Hickman, 2024
