One of the many topics we dive into during the Levan NSU Broward Center of Innovation and Maverc Technologies Cybersecurity Apprenticeship are examples of current and past cybersecurity events. Cybersecurity consist of a broad array of disciplines. My experience working with the various military academies, cyber warfighters that have been trained all around the U.S. and students from the National Security Agency Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity accredited colleges and universities has taught me that each aspiring cybersecurity practitioners has to find their passion within the profession to be the best they can be. Registrations are still being processed for this free program that prioritizes veterans but is open to others interested in cybersecurity as a career. Cohort two Hybrid Training program starts: Monday, January 13th, 2025. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) are taking proactive steps to facilitate the transition to post-quantum cryptography, as outlined in Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas’ March 2021 vision for cybersecurity resilience. We have also analyzed post-quantum threats to National Critical Functions (NCFs) and contributed to the development of guidance for migration to post-quantum cryptography. Building on these efforts, our latest guidance delves into the specific risks that quantum computing could pose to industrial control systems (ICS) and other operational technology (OT) platforms.
