Strategic Positioning is Embedded in Scripture. It is not just a concept for business or career growth. God wants you to be at the right place and time. We see it in John 5:1-16—the Healing at the Pool of Bethesda. A man who had been ill for 38 years sat by the pool. Every day, he waited. Every day, others stepped ahead of him. Then, Jesus showed up. One question changed everything: “Do you want to get well?” What Did the Man Learn That Day? → It wasn’t enough to be there. → He had to be ready. → He had to respond when the opportunity came. Strategic Positioning Isn’t Passive! 1/. Being Present is the First Step He stayed by the pool because he believed healing was possible. In your career, are you staying close to opportunities? Are you showing up where your value can be recognized? 2/. Clarity is Key When Jesus asked, “Do you want to get well?" The man didn’t hesitate. He knew exactly what he wanted. In 2025, ask yourself: → What do I want? → What does “success” mean for me? → Am I ready to seize it? 3/. Action Makes All the Difference Jesus told him, “Pick up your mat and walk.” The healing wasn’t just in His words. It was the man's willingness to move when time came. For 2025, Here’s What I’d Tell You: → Don’t just sit and wait for things to happen. → Position yourself where opportunities exist. → Know your worth and what exactly you want. → Be ready to act when the moment comes. Don’t just sit by the pool waiting for change. Position yourself. God honors preparation and action. When you’re in the right place with right mindset, opportunities will come. Small and mid-sized companies often take the approach that #leadershipdevelopment is a "nice to have" vs. a "need to have." They think to themselves, "oh we'll invest in leadership development when we make it or when we get bigger." What they don't realize is that they will get bigger and more profitable FASTER if they invest in leadership development for their people. Relationships are the currency of success 🎯 When I transitioned from the military, I quickly learned one truth: success isn’t just about what you know or even who you know…it’s about the relationships you build. Joining the Business Women's Network of Howard County a couple of years ago taught me that relationships are the foundation of growth, both personally and professionally. In the military, we relied on camaraderie to get through tough missions. In business, the mission may be different, but the principle is the same: you can’t do it alone.
