One interesting thing about Deepseek, according to its company CEO Liang Wenfeng, is that unlike many Chinese AI companies, they didn’t just copy Llama & tweak a few things, they innovated on a new architecture which allowed them to achieve these prices. Interview linked below.

Andrew Ng's AI Fund, an incubator for AI startups, is preparing to launch its second fund, AI Venture Fund II, with plans to raise up to $120 million. According to a recent SEC filing, the fund has already secured $69.75 million from 13 partners, leaving approximately $50 million still to be raised. Well sequencer centralization is surely an issue. Maybe base can allow independent sequencers. Also if sequencers fail, can have a fallback mechanism to allow to submit onto Mainnet directly to remove reliance on the centralised sequencers.

This paper has been very influential in companies building distributed caching systems. For example, Uber and Twitter have caching systems inspired by Memcache. The requirements of Memcache were: 1.
