I'm considering adding a Cold Calling workshop to the June 11-13 CharTec Academy event here in Bakersfield.... I know, everyone's favorite part of sales.... While prospecting may not be the most fun or glamourous part of the sales process, it's likely the starting point for most, non-referral, opportunities. But this is a major failing point for most MSP's.... This workshop would focus on implementing the proper curiosity strategies to maximize Marketing efforts, learning proven techniques for getting past gatekeepers, overcoming common prospecting objections, quickly qualifying and getting first appointments secured - without being slimy or manipulative. To those parents out there, I’m going to dive into a topic we can all relate to: planning a family outing! Which I feel is just like requirements gathering in what we do at Cloud Assist. Just like figuring out the perfect trip for your little crew, gathering requirements for your enterprise systems is crucial. Imagine planning a surprise trip without knowing what your kids love to do? That would end up being a disaster, right!?! Similarly, skipping requirements gathering for enterprise systems means risking missed expectations, frustrated team members, increase in scope, timelines shifting… just a bit of a nightmare in short! By sitting down and understanding everyone's needs upfront, you can tailor the system to fit like a perfectly-sized shoe. My sons is a pair of converse as he won’t keep on any other shoe! (Sorry Jordan’s and DC’s, trust me I’ve tried!) Requirements gathering is about ensuring every key stakeholder from IT to Finance to HR have the tools they need to thrive and the end goal is properly documented. Plus, it prevents those moments of realising you forgot the sunscreen halfway through the day!
