For me, SEs are often a great combination of a seller and a product manager. They understand the details of the product. They are able to package the product in customer-relevant use cases and outcomes. And then communicate and collaborate with the champion and the AE to follow-through the journey. A great combination of skills to have.

When the SE is brought in, they represent the voice of the customer while mapping that to their own value prop. Guided discovery and a good understanding of how to help the champion thrive in the next 12 months is crucial.

As Steve mentioned below, we see more SEs taking responsibility to drive the outcome discussion with a customer. Discussing the business case, outlining the use-cases and the impact of each of them. So, specifically being able to link storytelling capabilities with an analytical ability to present a quantifiable way of measuring outcomes for a customer.
