IT Economic Trends in Portland....A quick update from my desk.... The Metro area job market continues to see growth and transformation within IT. Here are some key hiring trends amongst empoyers for 2024: ✔ Increased Demand for Cybersecurity Professionals: As companies prioritize data security and cloud migration, the demand for cybersecurity roles like Cybersecurity Managers, Cloud Security Engineers, and Network Security Engineers has surged. ✔ Cloud and AI-Driven Roles: With many businesses in Portland moving operations to the cloud, cloud security and data protection are becoming top priorities. Roles related to cloud technology and AI are also expected to expand, especially in cybersecurity. ✔ Talent Retention Challenges: Portland’s tech companies, particularly larger enterprises, struggle with retaining talent. A survey found that 58% of IT professionals were open to new opportunities. ✔ Upskilling and Competitive Compensation: To stay competitive, Portland companies are increasingly investing in upskilling opportunities for their employees, especially in small and medium-sized firms. We just finished a search to find a company's new Integrator. *Bonus points* They are owned by a holding company that has also deployed EOS within their organization. And soon they will deploy EOS across their entire portfolio of operating companies. Why do we love recruiting for EOS companies? They have taken intentional steps to organize the goals, structure, and accountability they want to see in their company. They are usually very serious about growing. And helping everyone making more money. Most of the time, that makes for a very compelling opportunity for someone to consider. Any other operating systems or frameworks we should become fans of?

WISE INVESTMENT: While other #recruiters may have made it to 100 TE placements more quickly than Brad Dodge of iLocatum Recruiting in San Diego, California, it might be more difficult to beat Brad to 200 TE splits. That’s because Brad has made 162 Network split placements since his agency joined Top Echelon in April of 2018. And at his current pace, he will hit 200 TE splits long before iLocatum #Recruiting celebrates its 10th anniversary in the Network. Brad started his agency in 2015, and three years later, iLocatum Recruiting joined the Network. According to Brad, the decision to do so has been more than justified. “Joining Top Echelon is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” he said. “Such a great group, from the leadership to the members.
