Lookout for job related scams preying on people desperate to find employment! I have gotten several emails about interviews for jobs that I never applied for that are for companies that don't even exist! I also recently got a call from someone offering my a final interview from a company I applied to in March! I asked when the first interview was for me to be moving onto the final one & he said "right now". I've never heard of a cold call/interview that you are not even aware you are having. 🤣 While some companies do require a credit check (I had to do this when I worked at a mortgage company), you should not be required to click a random link & pay money in order to submit one. I have also gotten several job interview related emails from a gmail address. Perhaps there are companies who use gmail to communicate to potential candidates, but this is not something I've come across that has appeared to be legitimate. Being in a bad employment situation or being unemployed can cause a feeling of panic that may blur your judgement, but don't become a victim in your pursuit for employment!!!

Right now is the time to fire all cylinders in your job search. Why? 1) Interviewing shuts down during the holidays. Because of this, recruiters work twice as hard to get candidates in the door before Thanksgiving. This means more chances for your application to get picked up NOW vs during a period where there are fewer interviewers to talk to you. 2) Companies tend to use the end of the year (and into the new year) to plan and re-evaluate goals and growth. Usually hiring is paused or at least severely reduced during this time. Applications pile up and are more likely to get lost or ignored. 3) Some companies operate on a US federal fiscal year budget -- meaning -- they receive a new budget starting in Oct vs January. So, these companies are usually rushing to get their jobs filled in time or are using the refreshed budgets to open new roles! TL;DR, double down on your applications. It's a numbers game, and right now is the best time to play. All you need is one win!
