Brenntag’s Q3 2024 financial results were released this morning. In Brenntag Essentials, in difficult market circumstances, we were able to increase volumes sequentially and we succeeded in growing our gross profit >3% year-over-year. We are executing our “triple” strategy with a particular focus on our Last Mile Service Operations (LMSO), which are the performance cells to drive our business. The around 100 designed LMSOs globally are steered under a harmonized performance framework with standard KPIs. We are increasing the focus on our customers and end-markets, optimizing our product catalogues together with our Supplier Partners and continuing to reduce our cost-to-serve step-by-step. We are well on track to close 29 sites by end of the year through ongoing site network optimization. Collaboration and a strong focus on our customers and suppliers are of immense value in our transformation. A big thank you to all our employees for your hard work and dedication as we continue to drive our strategy forward. I am proud of the momentum we are creating jointly. Today, we presented the results for Brenntag’s third quarter of 2024. The chemical markets we are serving experience an extended bottoming out of the industry cycle. Multiple geopolitical challenges, general uncertainties, and a lack of consumer confidence keep impacting the economic development. Despite this, we reported volume and gross profit growth and confirmed our guidance for 2024. We continued to execute our “Strategy to Win” and are pursuing a targeted disentanglement of our two divisions, Brenntag Specialties and Brenntag Essentials, in areas with the highest value creation and differentiation potential. At the same time, we are prudently managing our cost base and are executing our cost containment measures while focusing on running our business. In our 150-year history, Brenntag and its people have shown resilience and focus in times of change. Brenntag’s Group financial results for the first quarter were published today. The results show a performance below our overall ambitions. Despite facing geopolitical tensions and challenging industry conditions, all segments within Brenntag Essentials recorded increases in volumes, both organically and through new acquisitions. This demonstrates our organization’s inherent resilience and ability to capture business opportunities even in challenging times, always with the focus on success jointly with our business partners. It makes me happy to see, how we kept strengthening our defined “triple” business strategy with two acquisitions in course of Q1 2024. And I am looking forward to the contribution their integration and collaboration will bring to our Essentials platform and portfolio. I want to highlight and thank our employees across Brenntag for their contributions and commitment as we navigated through the first quarter of this year. The semiconductor market's predictions over the next few years are extremely optimistic, requiring a quick ramp up. Fortunately, Arkema's global supply network and ability to produce for various markets give us agility. In December 2024 Perstorp announced the acquisition of an ester plant, located outside Amsterdam in the Netherlands, where Perstorp plans to begin manufacturing a new range of synthetic esters early 2025. This marks Perstorp’s first step toward the growth of the synthetic ester business, targeting the specialty fluids markets and becoming a recognized leader and supplier of synthetic fluids that enable sustainability benefits such as enhanced operational safety, cooling efficiency, and reduced fluid maintenance. Furthermore, Perstorp intends to achieve ISCC PLUS certification for the site, to produce Pro Environment products with reduced carbon footprint, independently verified by third party. “The acquisition will improve Perstorp’s position of becoming both a producer of building blocks and a supplier of synthetic esters.
