Understudying the mathematical fundamentals behind neural networks and LLMs will make people skeptical that we’re anything close to AGI. There’s a big difference between the “world-view” that a human has and that of an LLM. Humans have a notion of truth, for instance “I believe that Australia exists because of X, Y, Z reasons.” And we have a data stream of 5 senses worth of inputs, for our entire lives! LLMs have no inherent notion of truth, and only take word sequences as inputs. (One popular example — asking ChatGPT whether Palestinians have human rights, and the same question for Israelis.) Don’t get me wrong — LLMs are already changing the way we do many things. Thousands of jobs are being automated as we speak — for example operations, customer service. The majority of white-collar jobs such as software engineer or marketing manager will be made *more efficient*, translation: A company won’t need as many of them, or they will be expected to take on more roles. My own company, CodeSync AI relies heavily on LLMs to give leading indicators of project delivery success, and reduce developer meeting time. The former improves stakeholder trust, retention and evangelism; the latter improves dev team efficiency by 5-10%. In other words I’m the last person to be a naysayer 😊

Education is an industry in serious need of disruption if it is going to stay relevant in the future. Balaji Srinivasan, a crypto entrepreneur, started a new program called the Network School. It is based on his book The Network State, where people can come together to basically create their own countries, but connected through a network instead of only physical land. Highly recommend you read the book. The premise is that there is a lot of talent worldwide that can't afford traditional university education. He uses the example of the current US educational system, where getting a four degree at a top university is now $100K or more a year. If you're from a third world country, the price of a four year education could be more than what people make in a lifetime. There is also the fact that the current education system was originally made in era where farming was predominant, so most of the summer months are down months. You can't spend 3 months on break and expect to stay up to date anymore. The Network School costs $1,000 a month to live with roommates or $2,000 if you want to live solo. And that's it. The program emphasizes continuous education, offering mini-classrooms that you can be in for the day to solve a specific problem. If you solve it, you basically create a cryptocredential, which is verifiable proof. These cryptocredentials are like the 21st century version of a resume. The Network School isn't just focused on education. The second pillar of the school is focused on exercise and nutrition. Every student gets a daily workout with a trainer, and there is a special nutrition program that is used based on Bryan Johnson's Blueprint program. The third pillar called Earn, which is a way for students to earn money for solving problems. A $1,000 bounty is given out each day to whoever solves the problem. The last pillar is fun, and it is unstructured. The school's physical location is based an hour from Singapore, making it accessible to many activities and even as a hub to visit other countries. This school solves the program of educational cost as well as encouraging individuals that have talent throughout the world. It reminds me a modern version of the Ancient Greek Lyceum, where education wasn't just teaching how to think but also incorporated exercise. Agentic AI and Autonomous AI are good for talking in conferences or to sell products to CxO who can think they are working on Next Gen technology In most cases, regulated enterprises or projects just needs a plain vanilla workflow orchestrator where logic of execution sequence are deterministic Some cases in manufacturing or supply chain might see partial or complete applicability of Agentic AI but use cases will be limited Said that if companies do not show they are Agentic they will be considered using legacy technology in 2025. So expect lot of POCs Again as always my unpopular opinion #artificialintelligence

Enjoyed the project journey of poking around in the unsupervised learning area using K-Means clustering. Found it particularly rewarding going through the Elbow method and Silhouette score to determine the "optimum" number of clusters, which is always a challenge.
