"There are large ongoing internal initiatives that are a combination of Al, standardization, and simplification. As an example, we just shut down Salesforce. Within a few weeks, we will shut down Workday. We are shutting down a lot of our SaaS providers, as we are able to consolidate," said Siemiatkowski on a conference call." So here’s the long and short of it: Rabbit R1 is a $200 piece of hardware (which happens to look cool, because Teenage Engineering is a great design studio) that says “ET phone home” for every action you take. Under the hood, it appears to be a bunch of Playwright scripts. (With the exception of “Play a random song.” This is hard coded to be a Beatles song. Which I find hilarious.) Playwright is dope. You should learn how it works. I’m not throwing shade for using tools that are dope if you’re making a dope product. I just don’t understand how they got like $300M in venture funding to make… a voice-to-text NLP processor that runs a bunch of Playwright scripts and then calls them “apps” or whatever. (A relevant limitation here is going to be the web interface, because if even one button moves, your app breaks. Hence why all the Rabbit apps constantly break.) What did we learn here today? I call BS on this one. This is likely less about #AI and more about a market manipulation / hype train with an upcoming IPO. AI doesn't (yet) solve these complex workflows with an intuitive UI that #SalesForce and #Workday offer. What does everyone think? #cto #saas

Client: How many concurrent users do we think this could handle? It’s not everyday we get asked at Luminos Labs to load test a client commerce solution we’re building together that’s exponentially more concurrent users than they have today. But when it does happen, we get excited because they: ✅ Value the blocking and tackling of what it takes to have a good foundational user experience. The baselines of making sure the experience is up, fast, and scalable is scarily assumed. Psst, Dan Olsen, your Hierarchy of Web User Needs pyramid is still very relevant in the digital commerce world. Check it out folks. ✅ Value not letting technology be the weak link to their growth ambitions as they adopt more distributed and composable systems, integrated with their back-office platforms. ✅ Value resiliency and making sure what’s being created isn’t a house of cards that negatively impacts their customers and reputation if there’s an issue. Shout out to all the SRE, infrastructure, and eng/dev teams that keeps this stuff working across the vast tech landscape. If you’re in those teams and you never seem to have enough time, people, or budget, remember to speak in the language of business to help understand what the potential business impact of issues are along with the likelihood of it happening. It will go far. As they say, games are won in the trenches. Don't overlook the blocking and tackling! Was playing around with v0.dev before last weeks Next.js conf, wanted to stress test how much it could help someone build a complex feature in Catalyst. One of our merchants was looking to add a Gift Certificates section like Stencil has and we just haven't got to it yet within the out-of-the-box version. Was a perfect scenario! High level take? If you are building in Next.js you should 100% add v0 to your toolbox. It'll help you slice away at features much faster than any other AI solution in market. A pattern I see repeating:  Hotel chain wants an “all in one” software.  Software provider is not an “all in one”. Software provider loses deal. Hotel chain buys all in one. All in one fails at hotel chain after 1, 2 or 3 years.  It never quite gets “there”.  Hotel chain looks for integrated solution. All in one begins integrating 🤣

Atlassian Marketplace – 5000 ways to make your Jira work better The Atlassian plugin ecosystem has really grown over the years. At the time of launch in 2012 there were only around 60 apps, but we’re now looking at more than 5000 different solutions. I’ve come upon a great study of the Atlassian Marketplace by Brighttail with some interesting findings (link in the comments). So what are the main trends? - Project Management, Integrations and Macros are among the most popular categories of Atlassian apps with over 1000 apps in each category - There are over 1600 Atlassian app partners of different sizes - some offer just a single app while others have a big portfolio of solutions - Up to 2023 there were 3 651 734 app installs among all apps - Bigger Marketplace Partners tend to have a higher average app ratings showing better user satisfaction than smaller partners - Two-thirds of all apps have less than 100 installs If you’re thinking about choosing the best Atlassian apps for your setup, this study can be a helpful guide. “Codegen tools are broken.” They churn out boilerplate, need endless fixes, and rarely feel… smart. So when I asked Codebuff to create a browser-based Minecraft game, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I just told it: 👉 “generate a basic minecraft clone that runs in my browser that lets me move around in the world, explore it, and mine blocks. keep going until it's very recognizable as a minecraft game.” And here’s what happened: ✅ Hover effects to show where blocks drop. ✅ Particle effects when blocks are destroyed. ✅ An instruction overlay showing block types. Codebuff uses two agents: 👨‍💻 A Developer agent to write features. 🕵️‍♂️ A Product Manager agent to critique and refine. The best part? The game actually works. I've seen clients waste millions on overcomplicated software before partnering with MEV. It can be hard to recognize wasted spending when you're in the middle of a process, too. We had a client who was facing this scenario: • A $2 million system, bloated with features • Complex workflows no one needed • Unfriendly user interface What did they really need? Much simpler requirements. The truth hit hard when we stepped in. We stripped it down. Focused on the essentials. Delivered a solution at a fraction of the cost – just $100,000. The result? A system that did exactly what was needed. Quick, efficient, and without the unnecessary frills. The lesson was clear: Saying "no" to good ideas can be tough. But understanding and focusing on what truly matters saves money, effort, and time.
