Event-driven architecture (EDA) is a software design pattern that determines the flow of the programs based on user actions, sensory outputs or message from other programs. This approach enables applications to be more responsive, scalable, and adaptable, allowing them to process events in real-time and improve overall user experience. Let’s break down how major apps leverage this architecture for enhanced functionality: 💡 Netflix: When you pause a video, a "pause event" is triggered and sent to Netflix’s event processing system. This updates your playback progress and stores the state in a distributed data store, ensuring you can resume later—even on different devices! 💡 Uber: When a user requests a ride, it generates a "ride request event." This event is sent to a message broker like Kafka, notifying nearby drivers in real-time. Once a driver accepts, another event triggers updates for both driver and rider apps. I am honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from senior director Amol Farkade, director Avinash Gatty, and my manager Rajeev Karnatak for my role in a significant project at GEP. We've successfully redesigned and launched the Spend Self-Serve application on GEP’s low code platform, Quantum. Key highlights of this project: 1. 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Rebuilt from scratch on Quantum, enhancing flexibility and speed. 2. 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: Successfully migrated 100+ customers to the new system, ensuring continuity and improved service. 3. 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐥: Redesigned both the user interface and backend architecture, integrating MongoDB to enhance performance and scalability. 4. 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Expanded the application's capabilities to serve as a generic data processing tool, capable of handling various forms of Big Data. 5.
