  • Camera orientation estimation using Star Image Processing

    Objective was to calculate the measure of angle by which a camera pointing at the sky is rotated. Angle was expected to be measured by observing the images taken before and after the rotation of the camera. This is orientation angle, which is one of the three “attitude” angles.

    Result: Developed a simulation model using MATLAB software which would help any spacecraft identify a celestial body falling in its FOV (Field Of View) and thus one of the angles of the attitude. The simulation…

The simulation was 99.975% accurate and precise to 0.001 Degrees. The simulation was for other slopes/lines in the neighborhood and the variance in the output was negligible
