😶 #Indian-manufactured #drugs have seen a surge in popularity among #American #patients, driven by the combination of affordability and quality. Indian export to USA is therefore increasing. In an effort at using the regulatory system to fight competition from Indian pharma companies, eight Indian pharma companies are amongst the 11 global companies that have been served with “#Form483” of United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) since the start of 2024. The companies are Cipla Limited (three times), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited (once), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd CTO Unit 6 (once), Laurus Synthesis Pvt Ltd (once), Eugia Pharma (four times), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd (two times), Alkem Laboratories Limited and Jubilant Generics (both once). As leaders, we often face criticism. It's part of the job, and how we handle it can significantly shape our personal and professional growth. Before starting KSP Consulting , throughout my career journey there were several incidents when I saw criticism coming my way from clients, my colleagues and competitors. Initially, I used to avoid such situations, but with time, I learned to stay calm and avoid reacting immediately. Taking a step back allowed me to process the feedback without letting emotions take over. I listen objectively and try to understand the critic's perspective. Then I ask myself: Is there truth in what they’re saying? If so, I see it as a chance to learn and make necessary changes. If I disagree after careful consideration, I explain my perspective respectfully. Sometimes, we won’t reach an agreement, and that’s okay. The focus should always be on growth - using criticism to improve, not to doubt ourselves. You can’t please everyone, but you can handle criticism gracefully and use it constructively to thrive. The Trials & Tribulations of an Author Having launched my first book: "The Right Way" A practical guide to distributor models. Why some work and others don't. I set off on another journey to write my next book. I sketched out the chapter-by-chapter framework. Two chapters in. They came pretty quickly. When I'm on a roll, the words and narrative flow from my fingertips through my keyboard. I reviewed the first two chapters and made a few tweaks here and there, tightening some of the narrative to be better understood. That was a month ago. Chapter 3 has caused me uncertainty. It is as if I have a mental block on where to start, how to start. No matter how many times I revisit it, I just cannot kick-start myself into writing it. The heading and the sub-headings for the content are laid out in my framework. But words elude me! Starting, I find it challenging. I have to have the inspiration and the idea in my head. Without that, there is an emptiness that prevents me from writing the opening lines. That's all it takes, the opening sentence or two, and I'm off. The idea just happens in my head from nowhere. I have to sit down and capture it and start straight away lest I lose it. Do any other authors feel similar when writing their books? Why is MCT oil given to premature babies? Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) have positive effects on premature infants in promoting fat metabolism, promoting intestinal absorption, resisting pathogenic bacteria, and having antioxidant properties.   Preterm infants generally refer to newborns whose gestational age at birth is less than 37 weeks. Newly born premature babies face problems such as low birth weight, low immune function, weak self-regulation ability, poor adaptability to the environment, and poor digestion ability. Their body weight growth rate is higher than that of full-term infants, and their demand for energy and nutrition is also higher than that of full-term infants. Breast milk is the best choice for ordinary infant feeding, but ordinary infant formula and breast milk cannot meet the nutritional needs of premature infants. Therefore, it is of great significance to develop premature infant formula that meets the needs of premature infants. What physiological functions does MCT have?   Promote fat metabolism​​​​ 50% of the energy of newborns in the early stage comes from fat in food. Due to congenital insufficient development, premature infants have higher energy requirements than full-term infants. Supplementing sufficient energy is the basis for ensuring the normal growth and development of premature infants. L-carnitine is an amino acid-like substance that is an important coenzyme involved in fat metabolism and promotes the conversion of fat into energy. Premature infants have low organ development and poor L-carnitine synthesis ability, making it difficult to meet their own fat metabolism needs, which may lead to premature infants' growth retardation and fat accumulation in the liver. The metabolism of long-chain triglycerides (LCT) is hydrolyzed into fatty acids in the intestine, and then esterified to produce triglycerides. The triglycerides are emulsified into small particles under the action of bile salts to form chylomicrons. . After being absorbed through the intestines, it passes through the lymphatic system and blood system, and is dispersed into various cells of the body for hydrolysis to produce fatty acids. L-carnitine transports the fatty acids in the cells to the mitochondria to produce energy. Compared with long-chain triglycerides (LCT), MCT has better mutual solubility with water and can be hydrolyzed to produce medium-chain fatty acids more quickly in the intestine. It is almost never stored in the liver or other organs in the form of fat. Its metabolism is 8-10 times faster than long-chain triglycerides without the involvement of L-carnitine. It also makes up for the shortcomings of insufficient bile salt secretion in premature infants. Clinical trials have proven that infant formula containing MCT can help premature infants with very low birth weight absorb more fat and help grow.

Story 218 Two eggs and a glass of milk When I first joined BIT Mesra, I weighed just 42 kg. Coming from a lower-middle-class background, stepping into BIT was a cultural shock. To stay within my budget, I kept my mess bills as low as possible. Soon after our induction, we were informed of the annual sports meet. For participants, the hostel provided two eggs and a glass of milk every morning and evening. That was motivation enough for me. My plan? Join, enjoy the free eggs and milk, and ditch the games on the last day. Chance of good breakfast and dinner at low mess charge . One day, while having my egg and milk before my event, a “Bhuthru” (the mess waiter) approached me and said, “Our hostel hasn’t won a single medal. We’re feeding more than 500 eggs and 50 liters of milk to participants every day. It’s a shame for Hostel 7.” Those words hit me. I felt guilty for not taking the participation seriously. I revisited my decision. I participated in the event, despite being an average athlete in school. To my surprise, I placed 3rd in the 5000 and 10000 meters and 2nd in cross-country. That victory in the cross-country race from BIT to Rukka Dam and back earned me a grand welcome in the hostel. Over time, sports became part of my life. Playing hockey for BIT, I continued to receive two eggs, a glass of milk, and a kit every year. Every time I played for the university, I got a diet allowance of ₹37. When I left BIT, I weighed 62 kg, stronger in every way. My takeaways from this experience: 1. Integrity matters. Whether it’s your college, family, or country, they’ve invested in you. Don’t cheat them or yourself. Give everything a genuine try. 2. Daily discipline builds you. Sports improved my health and taught me a valuable lesson: just like in athletics, you must work on your career and health daily, using resources wisely. 3. Continuous growth is key. If what you earn in 10 years doesn’t match or exceed your 11th year’s earnings, you haven’t pushed hard enough.

While the internet often celebrates risk-taking, we overlook the real weight it carries for each individual. Think about it: Someone supporting a family approaches risk very differently from someone who doesn't bear others' responsibilities. A parent wouldn't quit their job to chase a dream without considering their family's needs. Instead, they might opt for a safer job change to secure their children's future. Some people don't seek extreme wealth, but aim for having enough money to be able to spend more time with loved ones. I applaud every individual for taking risks - from risking unemployment to start a business, to switching a job, risking not liking the work environment.

But let’s be honest, who has time for soul-searching and purpose-finding,Here’s a look at why “Starting with Why” & Finding Purpose (soon a movie about a lost employee) might just be the most overrated advice out there. Lesson 1: The "Why" is Whatever You Want It to Be Do you really need a deep, meaningful purpose to motivate your team? Absolutely not. Just pick a trendy #buzzword and run with it. Innovation, synergy, disruption—these are all great placeholders for your “Why.”. The only why that matters is what you get out of it. ProTip: Change your “Why” regularly to keep things interesting. Today’s purpose can be “Revolutionizing Customer Experience,” and tomorrow’s can be “Maximizing #Shareholder Value.” Flexibility is key! Lesson 2: What, When & Where? In search of the Why, what, when, where are left behind. In this climate of inclusivity, you be the flagbearer of the forgotten and the left behind. Focus on everything else, details are everything. Why waste time pondering why, when you can dive straight into the nitty-gritty of what you’re doing and how you’re doing it? After all, that’s where the real action happens. Forget #inspiring your team with lofty goals; instil a sense of urgency instead. Nothing #motivates like the ticking clock of a fast-approaching deadline. ProTip: Implement a daily countdown to key milestones. Public displays of urgency, like countdown clocks or red alert banners, keep everyone on their toes and focused on the finish line, not some nebulous “Why.” Lesson 4: Overwhelm with #Data, Not Purpose In the modern workplace, data is king. Who needs #purpose when you have metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards? Even if you borrowed some other teams data sets. ProTip: Hold weekly data review meetings. And multiple meetings to prepare the data, and by data preparation, remember  multiple formats, more colours and hard to understand graphs. Conclusion: Who Needs a "Why" Anyway? While the why brigade is busy mission-statement crafting, you’ll be in the trenches, getting things done. Purpose is overrated—practicality is where true leadership shines.
