A few things to digest here: 1. Thank you Robert Metzger for volunteering all of your time to help make things happen. 2. A tax rebate or reduction is only available AFTER the fact, so that's not going to help much at all. Small businesses live or die on cash flow. 3. Any kind of loan - with interest - doesn't help the business, it just puts it further in debt. 4. Even if a business goes through with all of this, there is NO GUARANTEE they will ever win or renew a DiB contract. Ideas: Why not just have the government front the cost, and then deduct it from the payment? This would incentivize the government and prime contractors to use many different sub-contractors. Why not just use DIBCAC assessors to do the third party attestations? There is no training necessary.

Artificial intelligence is a hot topic today at AFCEA International #TechNetCyber. While many are talking about what #AI can do for us - and it's certainly a powerful tool - US Army Col. Richard Leach, DISA Intelligence director, has his eyes on how our adversaries can use it against us. Continuing to stay ahead of our adversaries is vital to carrying out the first strategic imperative of the DISA Next Strategy: operating and securing the DISA portion of the United States Department of Defense Information Network.

On October 15, 2024, DOD published the final CMMC 2.0 Program rule. DOD’s final rule outlines the mechanisms that DOD will use to prescribe cybersecurity standards for safeguarding FCI or CUI, and to confirm that covered defense contractors and subcontractors have implemented the security requirements before award of covered contracts and maintain those safeguards during contract performance. The final rule details the tiered model of cybersecurity requirements DOD will use based on the type of information stored on a contractor’s information system and the requirements for certifications and assessments based on the contract’s assigned CMMC level. https://lnkd.in/eGQYiR-2 #CMMC #GovCon #Cybersecurity

DISA is accelerating its DODNET rollout, aiming to onboard nearly 100,000 DoD users within six to nine months. This ambitious push is critical to modernizing defense networks, collapsing outdated, stove piped systems into a unified, secure, and resilient network under the Defense Enclave Services program. CRG’s SME-Based Needs, Advice & Differentiators: Modernizing Legacy Systems: Transitioning to DODNET requires a robust strategy to dismantle legacy technology while ensuring mission readiness. - Advice: Focus on seamless integration and migration strategies that minimize downtime. Implement zero-trust architectures to enhance security during the transition. - Differentiator: Zero-trust architectures provide granular security, reducing vulnerabilities inherent in legacy systems. This approach ensures mission-critical operations remain secure and uninterrupted during migration. Scalability & Interoperability: As DODNET scales to accommodate 100,000 users, maintaining system performance and interoperability across diverse defense agencies is crucial. - Advice: Develop scalable cloud environments with dynamic resource allocation to manage fluctuating demand. Prioritize interoperability standards to ensure seamless communication across all defense entities. - Differentiator: Scalable cloud environments with dynamic resource allocation allow for real-time adaptability, ensuring consistent performance as user numbers grow. Interoperability standards prevent communication silos, critical for unified operations. Cybersecurity in Cloud Migration: Migrating to a secure cloud environment poses unique challenges in maintaining cybersecurity and data integrity. - Advice: Implement continuous monitoring and advanced threat detection systems to safeguard the cloud environment. Ensure encryption of data both at rest and in transit to prevent breaches. - Differentiator: Continuous monitoring and advanced threat detection provide proactive defense, identifying and mitigating threats before they can impact operations. Comprehensive encryption strategies protect sensitive data during all phases of migration. For clients (current & future) aiming to lead in this transformative effort, CRG offers unmatched expertise in modernizing and securing defense IT infrastructures. Contact us at [email protected] to learn how we can help you succeed in supporting DISA’s DODNET initiative. #CRG #DODNET #DISA #CloudMigration #CyberSecurity #LegacySystems #ZeroTrust #DefenseIT #CRGSupport #FederalAcquisition #DoD #CYBERCOM #DefenseTransformation #Interoperability #ScalableSolutions

In August, Marine Corps Logistics Integrated Information Solutions (LI2S-MC), in collaboration with Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), facilitated tests for the latest version of the Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES) — the DoD’s force deployment application. ICODES is an essential application that ensures effective transportation planning in both peacetime and wartime operations. The DoD uses ICODES to automate load planning and track cargo movements across land, air, and sea. The September ICODES deployment includes updates and new features to enhance functionality for planners and operators. The team updated two ICODES modules — the Sea Service Deployment Module (SSDM) and the Single Load Planner (SLP) — making it easier to generate documentation required for the military unit move process. New features include: 📍 A new interface with the Consolidated Air Mobility Planning System (CAMPS) Increment 1 (Inc 1) to transfer unit deployment airlift request data and all supporting airlift documentation to CAMPS Inc 1, and feed data into the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) system for sourcing and scheduling aircraft. 📍 The Joint Equipment Characteristics Database (JECD) module, a new prime repository for cargo characteristics of all equipment across the DoD. Required to process cargo for transportation, relocating cargo characteristic data to the ICODES application will allow personnel to use it across all ICODES modules — enabling more precise unit deployment planning. 📍 A new Training and Resource tab offering computer-based training modules featuring step-by-step videos on various ICODES capabilities, helping users better utilize and navigate the system. #PEOMLB #LI2SMC Christine Rodriguez, Mary Thoms, Margaret "Peggy" Toth, Michael Buccola, Marine Corps Systems Command, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC)
