If you study the basics of how 'light' works, you will hear of the 'Fermat's principle' of least time. A very simple and yet powerful idea from the 1600s that light always takes the path of shortest time when going from A to B. Well - that sounds like magic isn't it. How does light know of its future path? Do not worry - causality is not broken here. :) I always wonder, in a complex organization, how does a 'decision' travel through various people and teams. It always seems like decisions take the path of 'least resistance' as a result of reactionary responses of multiply interconnected entities. Throw in the uncertainty of future as an extra spice. Ideally we want important decisions to go through the path of 'most resistance' to have them effectively help the organization. No one person should take such a burden of ferrying thousands of decisions every day for a complex organization. The goal of a leader is to be able to create an environment that helps the decisions to overcome the paths of most resistance. In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, this is the way! #leadership #organization #strategy

This is an interesting article from McKinsey, highlighting 1. The need to balance a factory model and an artisan model - The artisan model deploys smaller teams augmented by AI, while the factory model relies on AI agents leading with human supervision. 2. Selecting the right use case is critical—use cases requiring higher human cognition align better with the artisan model, while areas like service desks and service management are more suited for factory models to drive down costs. 3. Defining a modular and productized architecture is equally essential to enable scalability and flexibility. 4. Organizational leaders must also prepare for challenges related to talent acquisition, operational design, and cost management, as rising AI costs can dilute the transformation’s benefits.
