She said her agenda includes, 1- Provide 1 million forgivable loans up to $20,000 to Black entrepreneurs and others who have a good idea but don’t have the resources, connections, or access to capital to get their business off the ground. 2- Launch a National Health Equity Initiative focused on Black men 3- Legalize marijuana at the federal level to break down unjust legal barriers that hold Black men and other Americans back 4- Lower costs by enacting the first-ever federal ban on corporate price-gouging for food and groceries 5- Lower rent and provide down payment assistance to triple the number of new first-time Black homeowners

I found this interview to be the most illuminating look at what transpired in the US elections last week. It is a fascinating look at the strong support Trump received from the young male vote. It says so much about our society and it made me reflect on the concerns many moms share with me: what kind of world are we raising our boys in, and how can we help them navigate it with strength and empathy? Recently in my podcast, I had the pleasure of talking with Craig Wilkinson, a fatherhood advocate, who offered powerful insights into nurturing balanced masculinity. For parents who are really worried about how they are raising their boys, here are three tips inspired by our conversation: 1. Model balanced masculinity: Fathers, show your sons that being powerful and being tender go hand in hand. 2. Teach the power of empathy: True strength lies not in dominance but in understanding others. Guide your boys to connect with compassion and empathy. By doing so, they learn to respect diverse perspectives and lead with a sense of justice and community. 3. Boys need father who is present: Nothing impacts a child more than quality time. Fathers should make the most of distraction-free moments, building trust and connection that leaves a lasting imprint. Raising boys who are powerful and kind is possible.
