Key achievements include hardening 350 miles of power lines, trimming vegetation along 2,000 miles, installing over 1,100 storm-resilient poles, and deploying 300 automated devices to reduce outages. Additionally, CenterPoint launched a cloud-based outage tracker and improved its Power Alert Service for better customer communication. Named to honor Hugh Brinson Warren, the pipeline will connect the Permian Basin's production to key markets, addressing the increasing natural gas demand. 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑫𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒔: 𝑷𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒔: The project will roll out in two phases. The first includes building approximately 400 miles of 42-inch pipeline, which is expected to be operational by the end of 2026. The second phase will expand capacity to 2.2 billion cubic feet per day, contingent on demand. Investment: The combined investment for both phases is projected at $2.7 billion, supported by long-term agreements with investment-grade counterparties. ‘Tis the Season for Midstream Deals and Decisions in the Permian Jingle bells are ringing this week in the Land of Oil and Gas A-plenty where midstream operators are already unwrapping holiday gifts. Reese Energy Consulting today is following the latest from the Permian, starting with Midland, Texas-based rockstars Kinetik Midstream and E&P Permian Resources. Kinetik, which in short order has become the Delaware’s largest independent gatherer and processor, operates 4,600+ miles of natural gas and crude oil pipe, and six gas plants with another under construction and another one planned. The company in 3Q reported $83.7 million in net income—a 94% increase year over year—and fattened its stake in Diamondback Energy’s EPIC crude pipeline to 27.5%. Kinetik will now further expand its “super system” in a $180 million bolt-on deal for Permian Resources’ Delaware oil and gas midstream assets. Kinetik gains 60,000 gross acres dedicated by Permian Resources under long-term, fixed-fee agreements that include 150 MMCFD and an estimated 250 MBPD next year, 250 MMCFD of compression, and natural gas processing. For its part, Permian Resources is sticking to its guns to remain the Delaware’s lowest-cost operator. This, after announcing a third consecutive increase to its full-year production targets and 160.8 MBPD announced in 3Q. Rock on, rockstars. Energy Transfer meanwhile has gifted Permian producers with a FID on the formerly named Warrior natural gas pipeline project. Now known as the Hugh Brinson, the 400-mile pipeline will flow an initial 1.5 BCFD from the Waha Hub to its pipeline connection south of Fort Worth. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) held its first collaborative meeting with state commissioners yesterday. While more potential solutions are emerging on the transmission side, state and federal regulators collaborated to address key topics, including: ➡️Reliability ➡️Resource Adequacy ➡️Natural Gas-Electric Coordination ➡️Wholesale and Retail Markets ➡️New Technologies and Innovation Ten state commissioners were nominated by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). This proposed natural gas pipeline will span Mills, Hamilton, Coryell, McLennan, Falls, Bell, Robertson, Brazos, Milam, and Grimes Counties. The construction is planned for 2026-2028. FERC is seeking public input to assess the pipeline's environmental impacts, as required by the National Environmental Policy Act. As we continue to evolve into the age of digital transformation, it has been reported that 76% of manufacturers across North America and Europe have started implementing digital strategies. Though only 26% say they have completed their initiatives, this is because there remain challenges in the supply chain, labor markets, and software adoption. Unbelievable! The capital of energy, Houston, still with 1 million without electricity at home. We were one of the 2 MM lucky families in getting light back after 3 days of Beryl, a Category 1 hurricane. But 4 days and counting and no internet. What was terrifying is the day the hurricane hit Houston: no communication in and out was possible; no phones, no cells, no internet, barely couple of AM radio stations and one FM. None in emergency mode. And no news. It felt like one of those nuclear apocalypse movies but without the AM Emergency Alert System. The conclusion is that Texas is totally unprepared for any kind of mild catastrophe. A little bit colder and all the pipes burst, gas pipelines stop, become inoperable, and no electricity. An unusual heavy rain and we get at least two days blackouts. Try to imagine a Cat 5 hurricane! For many of us, it looks nobody is in charge of the state. Politicians instead of doing their jobs are pushing their agenda through our throats. I don’t know what practical benefit will bring mandating the Ten Commandments in all the schools besides pulverizing the religion freedom of others, when they should be listening and attending Texans real issues. #Texas #EmergencyAlertSystem #energy #Beryl #hurricane #Houston #blackout
