Let's talk trends in the industry As a private chef, I've had the pleasure of working with various clients and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in the culinary world. One trend that's been gaining momentum in recent years is the use of Plant-Based Cuisine. Where it came from: Plant-based cuisine has been around for decades, but it's only recently gained mainstream popularity. The rise of veganism and flexitarianism, driven by concerns about animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and health benefits, has contributed to the growth of this trend. Chefs like Jamie Oliver and Matthew Kenney have been championing plant-based cuisine, making it more accessible and appealing to a wider audience. Where it's going: In the coming years, I predict that plant-based cuisine will continue to evolve and become even more sophisticated. Expect to see: More innovative uses of plant-based ingredients: Chefs will experiment with new ways to incorporate plants into their dishes, such as using jackfruit as a meat substitute or creating vegan "cheeses" from nuts and seeds. Increased focus on functional foods: As consumers become more health-conscious, chefs will focus on creating plant-based dishes that not only taste great but also provide specific health benefits, such as probiotic-rich fermented foods or immune-boosting superfood-based bowls. Greater emphasis on sustainability: Chefs will prioritize sustainable sourcing of plant-based ingredients, reducing food waste, and minimizing environmental impact. As a private chef, I've seen plant-based cuisine's versatility and creativity shine. My clients crave plant-based meals for special occasions or health reasons, and I'm excited to oblige. While some may miss meat, I believe plant-based options offer incredible variety and flavour. As a chef, I'm thrilled to experiment with new ingredients, techniques, and flavors to meet the growing demand for healthy, sustainable, and delicious food. The future of plant-based cuisine is bright!

Instead, establishments are opting to focus on smaller more intimate gatherings, catering to the preferences of those who are seeking personalized experiences and heightened attention to detail. Although this can help diners create more controlled and intimate atmospheres that ensure guest receives the utmost care and attention, we can't ignore the other side of the coin: some folks still enjoy dining in large groups. Not to be smug but we at Barmetrix realized this about 20 years ago when we first started! We collect the data, verify the data, analyze the data and then most importantly coach our clients on what parts of the data they need to prioritize. No one wants more data, they want solutions! They are too busy running restaurants to have time to figure out what all the data is telling them which in most cases in wrong because they data is not clean, accurate and timely! No business owner wakes up every day and wishes he had another report to look at! What are my biggest problems and how do I fix them!!
