It is important to remember that even expert hardware and software networked device manufacturers don't have it covered, and we used our approach to identify key design improvements that the hardware vendor then used in future designs, based off testing derived and enhanced from TR-398. IMHO what is most important about this Federal Communications Commission action is the fact that these changes can essentially be implemented immediately - enhancing the service of all the deployed base stations (CBSDs) and client devices near these DPAs. The SAS admins input the new protection criteria to their coordination models, and voila - better spectrum access and utilization. Industry has been working with the FCC, National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and the United States Department of Defense on relaxing some of the CBRS requirements for quite a while - with clear supporting evidence from years of operations. This is one of the first outcomes from that effort, and NTIA and DoD should also get credit for their hard work to make this happen. The ability to tweak the protection/coordination parameters over time is one of the key benefits of database-coordinated spectrum access (and one that we don't talk about enough). In both CBRS and 6 GHz Standard Power, I'd argue that the initial protection requirements were overly conservative (understandable, given the relative newness of these approaches). With dynamic sharing frameworks, policymakers should anticipate the need to periodically review the protection criteria based on actual field data and revise as necessary. Optimally these "checkpoints" would be included in the rules when new sharing frameworks are authorized.

T-Mobile – “will have ...an 18- to 24-month lead” SpaceX has told the FCC that it will launch its initial direct-to-cell satellite service in fall of this year. “We saw from Verizon investing in AST that they don’t want SpaceX to be the only game in town,” Tim Farrar said. “But it does look like [Space X] is going to have enormous lead in this market, they’re going to have hundreds of satellites up when AST will probably have 6.” This is far more than most other direct-to-cell projects, including the Globalstar #LEO #network, which intends to have 17 satellites up by the end of 2025 to support Apple’s SOS text messaging emergency communications system, which was launched in 2023. Let's look at what is going on in Canada: • EnStream is a joint venture by the largest telcos in Canada. "Reliable mobile device location that can’t be spoofed and that requires no preloaded device software. Supported on any mobile device on any participating network." I dug out a 2022 article from La Presse on this topic (translated & adapted): • Campsite can provide age and gender on top of geolocation. • Environics Analytics - owned by Bell - 100,000 apps feed into "MobileScape", going back in time to 2018. A new white paper from TCCA-Critical Communications explores what public safety agencies and operators need to consider to successfully deploy video services supporting mission-critical operations, especially where the scale of its usage is considered ‘massive’. This term describes situations where the amount of video could potentially saturate network resources, if not appropriately managed. In response to the House Energy and Commerce Committee passing a measure requiring AM radios in new vehicles, Blair Levin penned this editorial to the WSJ advocating for shutting down AM radio and making the spectrum available for wireless use - (A subscription is required) https://lnkd.in/gBzpzBvr His main points: 1) few people under 35 listen to AM, 2) spectrum could be better used elsewhere, 3) only 1% of emergency notifications are received on AM This got me thinking- why did the FCC mandate AM radio in future cars? I did some research and found the following article advocating for AM. https://lnkd.in/gamkve-S The main reasons: 1) covers much wider area than FM 2) cost effective and cheaper technology to include in cars 3) may be technology of last resort for emergency communication in rural and remote areas- and to elderly people. I personally can't recall the last time that I used AM radio, but I also don't live in a rural area. Do you use AM radio and if so, how often?

I fully agree with the benefits of having an independent spectrum and sharing the base stations/sites with AT&T. But FirstNet should have an independent Core for more resiliency.

Exhausted by the insanity of legal and Gov bureaus just not being able to navigate and thus rule and implement anything that actually works or betters "the Citizen". "Internet" is often used collectively and arbitrarily... and shutting it off can harm uninvolved citizens/persons etc... If you shut off internet to a household or establishment... what happens with 911? as an example for IP or Cell phones that are utilizing and/or have to use the WiFi connection for whatever reason? It's like shutting down a highway because someone used the highway as a get away route from committing a crime. IT'S STUPID Justice and idiot bureaucracy. BTW - I happen to know a little about both parties involved - and the copyright groups are some of the most scandalous, thug groups on the planet and somehow Cox Communications unfairly crossed their path. VIAVI’s Owen O'Donnell, TeraVM marketing manager, listed off a number of RIC use cases, including traffic steering, energy saving, anomaly detection, network slicing, massive MIMO and beamsteering—all “types of features where these tend to be the top of the operators’ use case lists because they’re quick wins and they don’t need operator intervention to run them. And that’s the important thing.”
