Lasting change is built on strong partnerships. To move beyond addressing immediate health needs and create sustainable solutions, we must collaborate with governments, donors, and partners to ensure communities have access to quality, affordable care. Our Self-Care Trailblazer Group, Delivering Innovation in Self-Care (DISC) project, and A360 project demonstrate this principle through their work with the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF). 📢 Across Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Kenya, A360 has equipped over 1.3M adolescent girls to voluntarily adopt a contraceptive method. 📢 The SCTG’s partnership with MOH-led National Self-Care Networks in Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, and Senegal have strengthened platforms for integrating self-care into national health systems. 📢 Under the DISC project in Nigeria, Uganda, and Malawi, over 1 million self-injection visits have been delivered—unlocking the potential of self-injection for women and health systems. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has integrated the 13-question person-centered maternity care (PCMC) scale into the Demographic and Health Surveys Program Service Provision Assessment (SPA). Developed collaboratively by M4M, the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the PCMC scale offers invaluable insights into aspects of care such as dignity, respect, communication, autonomy, and emotional support. A new report highlights the critical role of social needs in addressing health inequities within the Medicaid population. By understanding and addressing these factors, Medicaid plans can improve access to care and improve health outcomes. Among the findings: - Health Inequities: Income greatly impacts access to healthcare and health outcomes. - Social Needs: Factors like housing, education, and employment influence health. - Medicaid Vulnerability: Medicaid recipients are particularly vulnerable to social needs and their impact on health. - Preventive Care: Addressing social needs is essential for accessing preventive care and avoiding costly interventions. - Data-Driven Approach: Medicaid plans can use data to identify and address specific social needs.
