- [Presenter] In relation to hardware acquisition, there are a couple of elements that we need to be concerned about. So, what type of organization is this hardware going to work within? Do we have a centralized environment or where we're all located in a single location, or are we distributed throughout the world, throughout the city, throughout the state? You know, whatever those requirements may be, how we treat a decentralized environment's going to be different than centralization. As a general rule, it's easier to secure and protect a central location than it is if everybody is scattered. Now, we have to think about what products we're going to select, and if we have requirements, such as many government agencies require products to pass through the Common Criteria as a certification means. And if you haven't worked with the Common Criteria, essentially it's a means of evaluating whether or not a system meets the needs of the environment in which it's going to operate. So this…
