- [Instructor] All right, so if we start with the basics, what do we need to have a network? Well with our network, we're connecting computers together, and you could have a network as basic as two workstations side by side, connected with crossover cable, all the way up to an elaborate, you know, international organization of a million systems and various services provided throughout the structure or the infrastructure. So we can be very small, very large, very complex, very limited in what's offered. What really simply we focus on is the fact that we have more than one system connected together. And usually the purpose of that is to share information, to share data, to share resources, like printers or whatever that may be. And that's certainly kind of rooted in the very need for networking is the need to share. So we have to have systems, makes sense, and here we're talking about computer systems.
