Analyzing your competition

- As you're designing your show and from time to time, it's a good idea to analyze your competition. This doesn't mean do deep research into who's behind every show but it does mean take the time to listen to the shows and hear what's out there. What you need to do is think about how your content is going to be different. Maybe your competition is doing general news coverage and you decide instead to do in-depth analysis. Or perhaps everyone else is doing really long-form tutorials and you want to focus on ease of use and speed. What's important here is that you decide the genre and the voice of your show. And ideally you keep it consistent. If there's a lot of fluctuation over time, it can be really difficult for people to follow along. Also, make sure you think about where are people consuming your content. If you're producing screencast, for example, but your audience is mostly on mobile devices, you might have to do…
