Mapping your production
- As you're putting together a plan for your podcast, it's important that you think through some key things. I refer to this as mapping the production. You need to decide what form is the content going to take? Is your podcast or podcast series going to be audio based or video-based or a combination? Some content does really well audio only, particularly because of the smaller file sizes and ease of download. If your show's just conversational, you don't necessarily need the video With that said though, producing video content, while more expensive, gives you additional distribution options such as mirroring the content on YouTube. Although it is possible to put audio podcasts on YouTube, you just effectively create slideshows or just put your show artwork throughout the piece. This is all fine and you might even have a mixture, some audio content and some video content in a podcast, or maybe you deliver your video…
