Recording a screencast on a Mac
- Let's record a screen cast on a Mac. Now, there are several ways of doing this but I want to show you a popular tool called ScreenFlow. First up, I'll just check that my audio is in good shape. So I'll put my headphones on and just talking to the mic. Sounds pretty good. I'll place that just a little bit closer. Works well, I've got good levels, so I can move the headphones to the side. Now, periodically, it's not a bad idea to check your sound especially in between takes. It seems like it's working pretty well and I've got everything else hooked up here. We're running the video camera into the computer as well. Now I've launched screencast and you can see what's happening there. Now the mic is currently in the shot, which is okay for this style, but I could decide if I want that in or not. A lot of podcasters and screen casters do let you see their mic on the desk.
