APPEAL TO INDUSTRIES IN INDIA CSR Policy for Industry Personnel in Academic Institutions The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework in India, as per Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, mandates companies with certain financial thresholds to contribute to social and environmental causes. Extending this framework to include the involvement of industry professionals as academic resources in educational institutions can significantly enhance the quality of education, skill development, and industry-academia collaboration, which are essential to bridge the skill gap in engineering and technical fields. Deployment of Industry Experts as Academic Resources A key initiative under this CSR policy would involve the strategic deployment of industry professionals to academic institutions. This can include their roles as adjunct faculty, guest lecturers, or mentors for students, particularly in fields that require practical, industry-specific knowledge. Through such engagements, students will gain direct insights into current industry practices, emerging technologies, and the real-world application of their theoretical learning. Industry personnel, in turn, benefit by contributing to the development of future talent while staying connected to academia and fostering innovation. Building Stronger Industry-Academia Partnerships To facilitate the involvement of industry personnel in educational roles, CSR funds can be used to foster partnerships between companies and academic institutions. These collaborations could involve co-developing curricula that are aligned with industry needs, conducting industry-oriented workshops, and organizing training programs in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, and renewable energy. By integrating real-world industry challenges into the curriculum, companies can ensure that students are not only academically prepared but also industry-ready by the time they graduate. WE LOOK FORWARD INDUSTRY SUPPORT TO ENHANCE OUR SERVICE QUALITY FURTHERMORE.

Evidence-based policy takes center stage to solve global challenges: how the SDG Publishers Compact is pushing for change with Top Action Tips “Imagine a world where practitioners, policymakers, journal editors, researchers and educators are communicating more effectively with each other to boost solutions to our urgent societal problems”. Prof. Debra Rowe, President, US Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development. Evidence-based policy is critical for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by grounding decisions in reliable research and data. The SDG Publishers Compact Fellows have updated the "Top Action Tips", an extensive resource designed to empower the research and education community to support and promote the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to drive better evidence-based policymaking. The Top Action Tips are designed to be used by researchers, educators, publishers, journal editors, practitioners, policymakers, librarians, and graduate students. This set of tips provides easy-to-use strategies and best practices for integrating sustainability into research and publishing processes and content, and for closing the gap between practitioners and policymakers. There is also a tool to help educators assess and better align their materials to the SDGs. The positive outcomes include better-informed research agendas and better distribution of research results to those who can apply them to solve urgent real-world problems. The tips also make research results more accessible to the public to counter skepticism about the validity and usefulness of academic research. The Tips are already helping to further the reach and impact of research. For easy first steps you can take, use these key examples: · Editors ensuring authors share practical implications in the abstract · Authors including a plain language summary for distribution to practitioners and policymakers · Researchers connecting with practitioners and policymakers to inform the relevance of their research agendas The "Top Action Tips" are available for free download on the SDG Publishers Compact Fellows website at this link: https://lnkd.in/db4espsD. For more information, interviews, or to learn more about how publishers and academics can support the SDGs, please contact Andrew Bostjancic, [email protected] About the SDG Publishers Compact Fellows The SDG Publishers Compact Fellows work with academic publishers, editors, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to help facilitate the journey toward a publishing ecosystem that addresses societal sustainability challenges and supports human progress.
