The Moral Imperative to End Wars and Violent Conflicts: The cries of humans suffering from poverty, starvation, disease, and epidemics, the devastation of global warming, the desperation of migrants and refugees rescuing themselves from choppy waters to seek safe havens, and those squatting for months on the other side of the barbed wall expecting to get through one day, must morally and conscientiously urge us to stop wars and violent conflicts going on in the world. China. On May 1, a road collapsed in Guangdong Province after days of heavy rain, making cars to fall and set on fire. 18 vehicles were damaged, and 24 lives were lost. Currently, 30 people are under care, but having stable condition. 💫As the cycle of climate disasters is only beginning, we will face the rise in major earthquakes. The end of my wonderful internship at Pakhuis de Zwijger is approaching. As a final assignment, I have been given the opportunity to develop my own programme. Thursday 16 January is the day! With so much suffering in the world it's easy to forget the climate. I find it utterly insane that we are not seeking peace through negotiations in places like Gaza and Ukraine, but rather trying to devote more and more resources to war, and even teying to open a new front in Taiwan. When we should be developing a way for our societies to work and live together, without war and with minimum energy consumption. I have today been engaging in discussions online about the sentences handed out to climate protesters in the UK recently, and came across quite a number of people who deny that climate change is real, and far from holding the heads of the oil companies responsible for this looming catastrophe, actually believe that the real criminals are the protesters, equating them with terrorists and calling for even harsher penalties. They denied that climate change was a cause of population migration, claiming it was uncontrolled birthrates which were causing the refugee crisis. Today I came across this map, which allows you to see what the climate will actually be like in any given city of the world 60 years from today. This was produced by the University Of Maryland's Center For Environmental Science. Check it out. In solidarity with people of Wales-UK and Valencia Spain facing/faced severe flood and loss is lives and property. This is regular phenomenon in global south countries, recent example are flood in Nepal, Bangladesh, typhoon in Philippines and Vietnam in Asia. 2022 flood in Pakisy.while flood was happening in UK, global leaders have talks to address impact of climate change, but rich countries are spending money on wars rather willing to support climate action to save people. Climate crisis is created by rich countries by ruthlessly exploiting resources and use of fossil fuels, now is the time to pay back to save planet. Unequal global political power, financial muscle and massive inequality is leading towards extinction. No one is insulated, but poor countries have limited capacity to cope while people in Valencia and Wales could easily be resettled and recovered. Question is How long?

DISPLACEMENT Vs CLIMATE CHANGE These charts display the very link between displacement and climate related consequences. Certainly this is just part of this phenomenon, but: What about the socio-economic impact of displacement? And how climate change heavily burden on countries hosting people forced to flee (please let's remind that i.e. 71% refugees are hosted by low-middle-income countries)?
