The Future of Work: Moving Beyond SaaS to Service-as-Software The way we think about software is evolving fast. We’re shifting from traditional SaaS—where software acts as a tool—to Service-as-Software, where intelligent AI agents don’t just assist us but actively do the work. These Systems-of-Work are changing the game, transforming software from something we use into a powerful workforce that takes on tasks independently. In this new era, companies need to think differently about technology—choosing solutions that are outcome-driven, integrate seamlessly with their data, and create a unified intelligence hub that fuels decision-making. This shift empowers businesses to tap into the full potential of AI, turning tech investments into real, measurable results. The Software as a Service (SaaS) model, which evolved from the problematic enterprise systems (ES) era, was once perceived as the cornerstone of enterprise software delivery. By offering tempting subscription-based solutions, SaaS platforms were said to provide organisations with (an illusion of) scalable and cost-effective access to advanced tools. However, the emergence of advanced AI technologies—generative AI, agentic AI, and composable organisations (yes, composable organisations)—is fundamentally redefining both the enterprise design and technological landscape. Indeed, as widespread data and evidence suggests, these AI-driven enterprise models continue to expose the inherent limitations of both SaaS and traditional MSP models and are accelerating driving organisations, with a seasoning of systems thinking and enterprise design, toward a new era of enablement-as-a-service (eNaaS), digital autonomy, and enterprise (design based) renewal. For the full timeline, impact on enterprise affairs and Rare predictions on what's in store for the run into 2030.... #ENDOFSAAS Article Here: https://bit.ly/4iZQQAf Full White Paper Here: https://bit.ly/45Tnc9A

The Future of SaaS in an AI-First World If you’re building software like it’s been done these last 10–15 years, it’s time to rethink. The SaaS giants of the last decade? They’ll fast become the new incumbents. The playbooks that built those businesses are aging fast. We’re entering the AI-first era: language oriented, task centric, and agentic. Users will expect software to meet them where they are—not just through sleek interfaces, but via integration, automation, and proactive intelligence. API access is becoming essential, allowing AI agents and environments to leverage your software on users' behalf. And there are going to be huge opportunities in "headless": headless CRMs, headless task management, headless financial planning — headless *everything*. Software designed for infinite adaptability and seamless integration, unbound from traditional interfaces. This isn’t a tweak to the old model; it’s a wholesale shift. SaaS companies must evolve—or risk being left behind.

Listen to the experts (like Nasrin Mostafazadeh)... change is about to happen for your Saas Subscriptions. Traditional Software logic is being disrupted as we speek and replaced by real AI Agents that actually make changes in your database!
I have been saying that our Verneek unified AI platform is the antidote to the enterprise software siloes that have become productivity drains. It sounds hyperbolic to connect the dots forward and project the 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of a lot of legacy SaaS solutions, but that future seems to be much closer than even I anticipated...Of course, just like any market that goes through 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, it will start very small, but will ultimately snowball: 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗦 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗺 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗦 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱/𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶-𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀!

A lot of what we do at Verneek is exactly what our proprietary AI Platform was designed to do from day zero, back in 2021, before anyone cared for domain-general AI interfaces for Enterprises. The one thing that surely wasn't on our horizon is the grand power of our AI platform in unifying existing software siloes that Enterprises run on. When you have one AI engine that can ingest any source of data, integrates with any custom APIs, and can get grounded on any environment of choice, turns out you get on the path of disrupting a lot of legacy software companies. Listen to the remarks of our founder Nasrin Mostafazadeh on this topic at #WebSummit.

How are organizations big and small dealing with the data silos being created given the SaaS adoption (subscriptions range easily from couple of dozens to 100+ in many cases). With many core and niche platforms/functions being integrated into multitude of SaaS platforms, bringing the data together & building the knowledge/semantic layer has become an exceptional challenge as well as opportunity for most companies. This is one of the key areas of prioritization and innovation #businessimperative that needs to solved really well for the AI investments to deliver outcomes with sustainable impact. #iwork4dell

#SaaS is dead. 💀 Software is a business TOOL, not a business model. Software is becoming more commoditized ( hello, #AI :) ). As it becomes easier for enterprises to roll their own software or build replacements for all the SaaS; software becomes less valuable, and ....the VALUE of your code depreciates. Curious what new novel business models will come out of this now that you can't acquire a customer on your SaaS platform once and expect them to pay you forever— Plum Data Labs dies thigs differently. We charge for VALUE. #venturecapital #innovation #data

So Satya Nadella the CEO of Microsoft said the quiet part out-loud: The biggest impact coming on IT estates isn't on custom software (which will be impacted) but on packaged software. This makes perfect sense when you consider that these are literally the most standardized and commoditized parts of any IT landscape. AI Agents can deliver not only the transactional foundations, but provide a much better approach to integrate into a business and be the foundation for genuine innovation and differentiation without corrupting the base. It is hard to stress the scale of impact this will have on IT, traditionally these packages are the behemoths of any IT landscape, and suddenly all that is going to move. #AI #GenAI #AgenticAI #CRM #ERP Alex Marandon, Mark Oost, Itziar Goicoechea, Weiwei Feng, Bikash Dash, Arindam Bhattacharjee, Aruna Pattam, Julia Ellard, Robert Rowe, Eddie Short, Myles Suer
