Metanet Tplatform acquires AI company ‘Skelter Labs’… Expanding AI introduction support capabilities Metanet Tplatform has acquired Skelter Labs, an AI specialist company focused on enterprise language models, to enhance its AI adoption support capabilities. Skelter Labs is known for its large-scale language model, BELLA, which includes products such as Bella QNA and Bella Agent, designed to improve reliability in AI-generated responses using Search Augmented Generation (RAG) technology. The acquisition will enable Metanet to integrate Skelter Labs' advanced AI technologies into its existing solutions, such as Metapay and MetaRP4U, while also expanding its AI services across various industries. Metanet aims to leverage this acquisition to solidify its position in the AI market by supporting clients' AI transformation needs. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘆𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹. DeepSeek AI doesn’t stop. It presents a new graphic model called 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙨-𝙋𝙧𝙤-7𝘽. With innovative architecture, the model surpasses leading competitors like #DALLE3 and #StableDiffusion3. Just a few days after the models from the Chinese startup shocked the AI world and global stock exchanges, and after its free app reached the top of the download charts in Apple’s App Store in the U.S., the company is releasing this new tool. And while the presentation of models V3 and R1 was a gut punch to the American #AI industry with all its investments and resources, as well as to the Trump administration, the introduction of the graphic tool almost immediately after that, is a sort of finger in the eye. The new model is an improvement over the previous model, #Janus, which was launched at the end of last year. It’s a multi-modal model, meaning it can combine text, video, and images in its work, create pictures and videos, and also understand what is seen in the images provided to it. I turned to #ChatGPT-4o-mini to see what it had to say about its competitor. And this was its response: "It seems that Deepseek is managing to stand out from its competitors in the AI image generation industry, at least according to the rankings and assessments it presents. The company claims it has improved data quality, training processes, and model size, leading to impressive results. In the end, it depends on the intended uses and the nature of the developments being made in each model." Nekao AI strategy?... Killing two birds with one stone: profitability and service. The two largest platform companies in Korea, Naver and Kakao, are focusing on developing new businesses centered on artificial intelligence (AI) this year. Naver is expanding AI customers and services using Hyper Clova X, while Kakao plans to strengthen AI service efficiency through collaboration between AI research and service development organizations. Naver is investing tens of trillions in the AI business, while Kakao Brain spent 80 billion won in AI expenses last year. "We need to design a new intellectual property system to respond to the development of AI technology" A government report has called for a new intellectual property system to align with the advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Released by the Presidential Commission on Intellectual Property, the report analyzes the current status and potential impact of super-large-scale AI, detailing intellectual property issues and proposed solutions over five chapters in 400 pages. It emphasizes the need for regulatory measures, such as watermarking for AI-generated content, and highlights international trends, with countries like the EU and the US introducing related legislation. The report warns that prioritizing industrial development may weaken rights holder protections and stresses the importance of designing an effective intellectual property system that supports innovation. Co-chairman Lee Kwang-hyung indicated that the Commission will continue addressing the evolving role of intellectual property in AI and monitor international trends.
