After decades of waiting POP-RT and RTOG 0534 SPPORT trial have demonstrated the added value of ENRT for HR Prostate cancer, and for biochemical relapses, respectively. There are no clear indications for lymph node metastases. Can we perform a very targeted treatment based on PSMA PET/CT?

How Can Doctors in Good Conscience Continue Recommending 42 Radiation Sessions for Prostate Cancer When 5 Are as Safe and Effective? The latest research published in the New England Journal of Medicine proves that 5 SBRT Radiation Therapy Sessions With CyberKnife Are As Effective and Safe as Other Types of Radiation Requiring 32 or 42 Treatment Sessions for Low-to-Intermediate-Risk Localized Prostate Cancer Five-fraction SBRT was non-inferior to control radiotherapy with respect to biochemical or clinical failure and may be an efficacious treatment option for patients with low-to-intermediate-risk localized prostate cancer. 📄🩻 Our article : A randomised trial of short‐ vs long‐term androgen deprivation with salvage radiotherapy for biochemical failure following radical prostatectomy: URONCOR 06‐24 has been published in BJU International 💊 The URONCOR 06-24 trial is a prospective, multicentre, randomised, open- label, phase III, clinical trial. The aim of the trial is to determine the impact of short-term (6 months) vs long-term (24 months) ADT in combination with SRT on distant metastasis-free survival (MFS) in patients with prostate cancer with BCR after RP (intermediate and high risk). ▶️ This is the link : https://lnkd.in/g4v8KJZf

In a recent study, PSMA-PET/CT was able to detect metastases in 46% of patients who were classified with high-risk non-metastatic HSPC on conventional imaging, suggesting that conventional scans may routinely understage patients with prostate cancer. https://lnkd.in/e7CwHjUz

#Proton Therapy is not better than #IMRT in Prostate Cancer. - For many years, there has been debate regarding the potential superiority of proton therapy. Despite dosimetric equivalence in the high dose region, prostate patients have been attracted to proton facilities with promises of reduced toxicity. In this study presented at #ASTRO24, a multicenter phase III prospective randomized trial now proves that IMRT is equal to protons for cancer control and toxicity: https://lnkd.in/ecuuKfWz
