Better company performance when you empower your employees . The "Permissionless Corporation" article in HBR by Rita McGrath and Ram Charan discusses the significant impact of digital technologies on organizational structures. Digital advancements are empowering employees to make decisions independently, prompting a shift towards flatter, more adaptable organizational frameworks. This decentralization enhances agility, allowing businesses to respond faster to market demands and internal needs. Key innovations include AI and software that streamline information flow, ensuring transparency and direct access to data for frontline decision-makers. This elimination of traditional silos and layers enables the formation of compact, self-sufficient teams capable of managing projects from start to finish, fostering a culture of independence and accountability. The concept of a permissionless organization promotes a setup with fewer hierarchical layers and more direct paths to customer engagement. This approach reduces bureaucracy and enhances efficiency, focusing on strategic, customer-facing, operational, and coordination layers within companies. Such structures are not achieved incrementally but require a complete overhaul of traditional practices, prioritizing digital leverage and frontline empowerment. Additionally, modern IT disciplines combat digital sprawl and promote precise metrics that facilitate autonomous team management. This system allows businesses to maintain agility and innovate continuously, aligning with the principles of a circular economy where adaptability and efficient resource utilization are crucial. In conclusion, embracing a permissionless organizational design is not about just reducing managerial layers but about redefining business operations for dynamic, digital-driven markets. This model empowers employees, enhances responsiveness, and drives innovation, making organizations more competitive and resilient in rapidly changing environments. The idea that digital technologies are fundamentally changing knowledge work is not new. We’ve been talking about the paperless office for decades. But what is less well understood is just how far technology can push decision-making to the edges of the organization, allowing businesses to adopt structures that are flatter and more reconfigurable than those they’ve traditionally used. AI and other software can create a single source of the truth and make information transparent to all authorized decision-makers on the front lines, feeding it to them directly and without filters. New technology lets managers make decisions and experiment in a decentralized way that enables both independence and accountability at the team level. Welcome to what Michael J. Sikorsky has called the permissionless organization—one that uses digital technologies to unleash the creative and collaborative potential of people rather than trapping them in endless reporting and coordination loops. Fuel up the weekend reading this article from Harvard Business Review. https://lnkd.in/eydjs-cG

The experiences of exceptional organizations show that capturing technology’s opportunities means making eight mutually reinforcing shifts that strengthen people, processes, and technology in tandem: 1.from process excellence solely focused on repetitive tasks to also applying the principles of excellence to flexible, project-based work, turning the unusual into business as usual 2.from control and compliance to empowerment, giving individuals the autonomy and information they need, often based on digital footprints, to work more effectively 3.from gathering expertise in specialized silos to making expertise available to all via app stores, allowing workers to integrate highly accessible digital tools for tailored solutions 4.from process masters to process reengineers so that rather than simply mastering current processes, managers continually rethink and redesign how tech-enabled processes can improve work 5.from going to work to supervising control centers that are increasingly decoupled from physical production flows—opening new opportunities to restructure network strategies 6.from Industry 4.0 to “Industry 4 U,” which yields better work environments via stronger technology support, improved ergonomic design, and an inspiring leadership culture 7.from ad hoc learning to industrialized capability building to make rapid skill building with large numbers of employees a competitive advantage 8.from building internal departments to orchestrating an ecosystem, redesigning how companies integrate knowledge and radical innovation into their value chains by rethinking collaboration models #industry4.0#organizational structrure #industry 4Y

In the ever-evolving landscape of digital transformation, we often find ourselves at a crossroads: the automation of efficiency vs. the preservation of human touch. 🚀🤝 Consider this—technology is capable of processing data in milliseconds, yet it can't replicate the nuanced essence of a heartfelt conversation. As we forge ahead, bridging this gap becomes paramount to our success and fulfillment. Here's how we can harmonize technology and humanity in our workspaces: 1. **Embrace Augmented Intelligence, Not Replacement** - Think of technology as a well-suited partner to magnify our potential. - Let it handle the mundane tasks so we can direct our energy towards creativity and problem-solving. 2. **Revolutionize Personal Interactions with Data** - Use AI and analytics to gain deeper insights into customer needs and employee well-being. - Personalize experiences based on these insights to foster stronger, more authentic relationships. 3. **Cultivate Continuous Learning Environments** - Encourage employees to upskill regularly. Knowledge is power, after all. - Create platforms for knowledge sharing where human expertise is valued and multiplied. 4. **Promote Technological Empathy** - Develop technologies that understand human emotions and respond appropriately. - Chatbots, virtual assistants, and AI-driven platforms should be designed to operate with empathy-first approaches. But it's not just about implementation—it's about mindset. 🔑 **Lead with Emotional Intelligence** - Leaders should model empathy, active listening, and emotional intelligence. - These human-centric skills will inspire teams to use technology ethically and responsibly. 💡 **Foster a Culture of Innovation and Safety** - Create a safe space where employees are encouraged to experiment and fail forward. - Balance risk-taking with due diligence, ensuring that both innovation and security are prioritized. 📈 **Metrics that Matter** - Evaluate success not just by financial gains but by the overall well-being and engagement of your people. - Incorporate metrics that track employee satisfaction, customer loyalty, and community impact. Finally, let's not forget that: 🌍 **Diversity Drives Innovation** - Diverse teams bring a plethora of perspectives, fostering groundbreaking solutions. - Inclusion ensures that technological advancements benefit all communities, equally. As we stand at this exciting juncture, it's clear that our future doesn't solely lie in the precise algorithms or the cutting-edge hardware, but rather in the confluence of human brilliance and technological prowess. So, let's embrace this duality. Let's create a future where technology amplifies human potential, and humanity guides technological progress. After all, the heart and soul of innovation lie in the harmonious blend of both. 🌟

MANAGEMENT AS A SYSTEM H. G. W. Dettmer submitted: "Organizations live and die as complete systems not as a collection of separate parts." Innovation culture is a part of the company culture, which is just part of the "core of the company management systems" and that is affected by the industry and by the regional cultures. MIT Prof. Jay Forrester submitted back in the 60s that management is a dynamically complex system. The AI accelerates the globalization of the business environment, and it is high time we envisage the management as a system. I will be posting shortly an article on "The Enterprise Business System".

65% of AI & Tech Transformations Fail 🚫 Why? Because they forget one thing: People. I've spent 25+ years in healthcare leadership, and here's what I know: transformation fails when we forget the human element. Digital transformations often fall short of expectations. Why? Because we're solving the wrong problem. 7 critical shifts needed in 2025: 1/ From Tools to Trust ↳ Technology doesn't transform workplaces. People Do. ↳ Start with psychological safety and clear communication. ↳ Build trust before introducing new tools. 2/ From Training to Translation ↳ Stop teaching "how to use tools." ↳ Start showing "how tools improve lives." ↳ Connect every change to personal growth. 3/ From Metrics to Meaning ↳ Move beyond efficiency metrics. ↳ Measure impact on well-being and job satisfaction. ↳ Track how transformation enables better work-life integration. 4/ From Control to Collaboration ↳ Replace top-down mandates with team-led initiatives. ↳ Create innovation councils across departments. ↳ Let solutions emerge from front-line expertise. 5/ From Speed to Sustainability ↳ Stop rushing digital adoption. ↳ Build systems that support long-term resilience. ↳ Focus on sustainable change management. 6/ From ROI to Human Impact ↳ Expand success metrics beyond financial returns. ↳ Measure employee engagement and retention. ↳ Track improvements in work-life quality. 7/ From Digital to Hybrid Excellence ↳ Balance automation with human judgment. ↳ Preserve meaningful human interactions. ↳ Create frameworks where technology amplifies humanity. Real transformation isn't about adopting new technology. It's about enabling people to do their best work. In healthcare, I've seen both sides: - Teams that resist change because they don't see the "why" - Teams that embrace change because they shape the "how" The difference? Leadership that prioritizes people over processes. ♻️ Share if this resonates ➕ Follow Dr. Elise Victor for more.

"What’s missing are the organizational structures required to make technology truly work.................But today, standard work is much more automated. What’s left is increasingly nonstandard, yet most industrial organizations aren’t structured for nonstandard work—leaving them unable to change at the pace innovation requires." Really important research from McKinsey & Company here. It very closely mirrors the findings from The Josh Bersin Company on #dynamic organizations. 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 When discussing innovation in the digital age, the conversation often turns toward complex technologies and systems. But at the core of it all, one question consistently emerges: how do organizations not only adapt to change but also position themselves to thrive in a rapidly evolving world? The answer, in many cases, is through carefully crafted digital solutions that drive growth and maintain competitiveness. Consider the landscape we’re in—where data is abundant and customer expectations evolve almost daily. The ability to leverage digital tools for streamlining operations, enhancing customer experiences, and optimizing decision-making can make all the difference. It is not just about adopting the latest technologies, but rather about aligning digital initiatives with the unique goals and values of the organization. Take, for example, artificial intelligence. Its power lies not just in automation but in the insights it provides. AI allows organizations to better understand their data and make informed decisions quickly. This isn’t about replacing human judgment but augmenting it, enhancing the capacity to forecast trends, anticipate customer needs, and respond to market shifts with agility. Equally important are digital solutions that foster collaboration. Platforms that integrate communication and project management enable teams to work cohesively, regardless of geographic barriers, fostering innovation and keeping projects moving forward efficiently. This level of integration, where technology enhances human interaction, is key to building resilient, future-ready organizations. However, growth and competitiveness require more than just implementing these tools—they demand a strategic approach. Companies that succeed in today’s market are those that view digital transformation not as a one-size-fits-all solution but as a tailored process. The most successful initiatives respect the organization’s unique culture and operational needs, ensuring that technology is a complement rather than a disruption. To conclude, embracing innovative digital solutions is essential, not just for the sake of innovation, but as a means to empower growth, agility, and sustained competitiveness. When approached thoughtfully, these solutions can truly elevate organizations, allowing them to not only keep pace but set new standards for success. #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #AI #GrowthStrategy #Collaboration #TechnologyIntegration #FutureReady #Competitiveness #TailoredSolutions #BusinessGrowth #StrategicApproach #AgilityInBusiness
