Asphalt Group successfully completes journey to meet environmental standard We are delighted to announce that Asphalt Group have achieved PAS 2080 verification, becoming one of the first companies in the highways sector to meet the environmental standard, covering all four businesses in the group - Reinforcement; Preservations; Surface Dressing and Surfacing. We have worked closely with PYE Management Ltd to help obtain verification to PAS 2080: 2023 Carbon Management in Buildings and Infrastructure. Having now successfully completed our journey to meet this important standard, focus will remain on ensuring that our impacts on the environment are minimised and that our industry knowledge and expertise is used to help the wider sector. Commenting on the achievement, Asphalt Group Managing Director Stephen Cooke said: “The highways sector is under increasing pressure to adapt to improving environmental standards and expectations of government and society; including bringing all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050. “PAS 2080 is not just about reducing carbon; it's about transforming the way we design, build, and manage infrastructure to ensure the asset lasts longer.” Emma Pye , Mikaela Rowe , Howard Cooke , Ben Kilbey , Quentin Willson , FairCharge , Road Surface Treatments Association , Michael Hansford , Sarah Knott , The Institute of Asphalt Technology , Sandy Sykes , Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) , Lyle Andrew , Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom , National Highways , Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) , Matt Eglinton FIHE , Stephen Elderkin , Dr Joanna White , Local Government Association , Bill Esterson , Lilian Greenwood , Paula Claytonsmith , Susanne Ingham , Asphalt Industry Alliance , Environment Agency , Dom Browne , Paul Hutton , Adrian Tatum , Transport + Energy #makingroadslastlonger #environment #highways #industry
