The global climate event for the well-being of the planet, #COP29 is halfway done, yet there are mostly false promises and little clarity on what actions look like in terms of funding, gender equality, human rights and inclusion for all. When thinking about climate solutions, women and girls need to be at the forefront; not only because they are the most affected by the climate crisis but are also the ones who are at the forefront of leading any kind of action to adapt, mitigate, reimagine shifts that can bring about change that is meaningful, inclusive and equitable. #womenshealth #climateaction #genderequality

Beyond addressing carbon, the Anhuang Afforestation Project in China also supports gender equality, with 60% of the farmers employed and trained being women. This project plants indigenous trees in the rocky karst mountains, which has been damaged due to unsustainable farming practices. Not only nature benefits from the project, but also the local population. Scroll through the post to learn more about this amazing project. There is no climate justice without gender justice. The vision for feminist climate justice is a world where everyone can enjoy the full range of human rights, free from discrimination, and flourish on a planet that is sustainable and healthy. Women are disproportionately affected by climate change. 80% of people displaced by climate change are women and girls. 8 out of every 10 women and girls around the planet are responsible for collecting water for the family. Let’s respect our planet and all the humans that live on it. #genderjustice #climatejustice #earthday #earthday2024 #earthdayeveryday
