From apps for fast food and food delivery to self-service and self-checkout, your favorite grocery stores and fast food chains are changing fast. Popular franchises are planning to invest $2.0-B to bring AI and robots to stores and drive-thrus in 2024. In 2022, American grocery stores spent $13.0-B on tech automation. The Food industry Association expects spending on things like smart cards and revamped self-checkout aisles to grow 400% through 2025. Reducing costs means automation, so we will see more AI in customer facing, back-office, and internal operations. In fast food, while food prices remain an important part of a customer’s decision, customers are looking for personalized, frictionless experiences.
