💡 This year’s International Women’s Day theme was #AccelerateAction to achieve gender equality. Did you know that at the current rate of progress, the World Economic Forum predicts that it will take roughly 5 generations for women to achieve full gender parity? That won’t be until the year 2158. 🎙️In continuation of our celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting another employee featured on our International Women’s Day panel, Greenwich Avenue Store Manager, Kate George. ➡️ Kate’s advice on this for future generations: “Stop waiting for permission or an invitation. If you feel like you should be in the room, get yourself in that room. You don't need to be validated by other people.” 🗳️ 15 years ago, Kate’s mother gifted her a mug with the slogan of the Suffragettes’ movement, “Votes for Women.” Ever since, she’s used it daily to remind herself of the power of female relationships. She shared, “[The Suffragettes] were able to mobilize and come together as a driving force for change. It's a very powerful sentiment, this collection of voices that can change the future—the connection that we can all have together.” She’s continued the tradition, now gifting the same mug to each of her daughters. Thank you, Kate, for your inspiring words on such an important topic.
