🦋Team Albi💙 This year on 21st June -Team Albi are taking on the challenge of walking the full length of the Taff Trail (55miles) in under 24 hours to raise funds for #cureeb. Team Albi consists of a big group of family and friends (40plus and growing )all wanting to support this incredible charity which raises vital funds for research projects and clinical trials with the goal of finding a cure for those living with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa like Albi. 🦋100% of the funds raised will go to research 🦋 Why are we doing this: Albi was born with Severe Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB - GS). This is an extremely rare and incredibly painful genetic skin disease; the slightest knock or friction caused by normal everyday activities will cause the skin to blister and/or shear. EB effects Albi both internally and externally meaning blisters also form on his eyes, mouth and esophagus. Without a cure those with severe forms of EB like Albi are at a high risk of developing an aggressive form of skin cancer - Squamous cell carcinoma (typically in their 20s) which is usually fatal. Being such a rare genetic disease raising awareness and helping to fund research and trials is critical to stop the pain that Albi and others born with EB live with every day. Please help us spread the awareness of this extremely rare cruel & painful genetic disease for all those that suffer. Every like, share, sponsor & donation helps so much with bringing the much needed awareness and virtual funds to support in making daily life less painful whilst working towards finding a cure.💙 Meet the team so far in the story below and fundraising link ⬇️
