SDRs can be taught to be AEs SDRs can be taught to be CSMs [shoutout to Eric Partaker for the post inspo] Also... SDRs can be taught to be Managers SDRs can be taught to be Marketeers SDRs can be taught to do almost any role Fact: It's better to hire someone who is 60% ready with the right behaviours. Than 100% ready with the wrong ones. SDRs deserve a chance. Do you agree? PS. Share ♻️ with others in your network. And follow Chris Ritson for more sales content like this.

SDRs often have exactly what modern companies need - ability to adapt fast and learn on the go. With AI and new tech reshaping sales completely, this flexibility becomes even more critical than any specific skills we value today.

Why can’t SDR also be taught to be SDRs?? Why do we continue to push this linear career growth that the only goal for an SDR is to no longer BE an SDR? What if companies made SDR a career path in its own right? Someone that can have a successful career professionally AND financially. Could you imagine how powerful of a lead gen pro you’d have if they literally did nothing but hone that skill over 5, 10, 20 years!?!

Skill development over time is key. Talent can be nurtured. Right attitude, willingness to learn. Growth potential is immense. Versatility is invaluable. How do you see companies effectively transitioning SDRs into these roles?

Yes, most SDRs I have coached could easily transition into an AE role, marketing, or product. We desperately need to hire more SDRs straight into these jobs.

Chris Ritson Big facts,! 🙌 SDRs have that grind, so they can definitely slide into AE, CSM, or even Manager/Marketer roles if they’ve got the right vibe. 💯 Sometimes the right energy and hustle are all you need. Don’t sleep on hiring someone 60% ready with the right mindset—it’s a game changer. 🔥
