#feedbackfriday Great feedback from a new customer who needed a complex Functional Capacity Evaluation (#FCE) this week for an employee who was struggling at work. An FCE assesses physical impairments against a set of standardised testing protocols to get data-driven information. This gives us insight on how that individual manages physical activities, compared to others, as well as matches them against what they are required to do for tasks associated with their role. Well done 👏 to Paul Scallan and Karli Gibson  who have been working hard to develop these assessments at #TeamBespoke. Why can't our HE education do this? Why does the government not support RPL in Australia like they do in Europe? The Guide for Employers would be a good start - see the link provided in the post. Note: for Australian VET it is not what a candidate centered approach is in our sector this document is more for HE but the fact that they are producing guides for employers is a huge leap from where we are at currently!!

I'm seeing lots of posts about CIPD brief changes and the panic it's causing. Here's what happened next year and what I expect to happen again this year. The optional units did not change last year. Maybe that means they are more likely to change this year. This focus on Continuing Professional Development ensures that exacting standards are met consistently, which builds trust and confidence among clients and the public. Employers also recognise that supporting CPD can enhance their reputation as #employers who invest in their workforce, thereby attracting better job applicants who seek environments that support professional growth and development.

The most opaque parts of the SPHR process were securing testing accommodations and understanding exactly what would happen on the day of the exam. This STILL baffles me. When I do HR work, my goal is always to set clear expectations for employees and create a great experience. Sooooo I would have expected HRCI to do the same with this exam?! This week’s blog describes the process to get accommodations (which we could not find thoroughly documented anywhere) for the exam and the timeline you should expect for that process. Additionally, we’ve described the resources we were provided on exam day to give you some sense of what to expect. (That said, we do not know how the process differs depending on testing locations.)
