At the 92nd Annual Meeting of the US Conference of Mayors in Kansas City, I had the honor of announcing winners of the Talent for Tomorrow: Digital Equity Challenge, a joint initiative of Comcast and the United States Conference of Mayors that builds on our shared commitment to digital equity. Through the challenge, part of #ProjectUP, Comcast’s $1 billion digital equity and economic mobility initiative, we’re awarding a total of $1.5 million to 10 cities to support local workforce and jobs training programs.   Congratulations to our 2024 Digital Equity Grant Award Recipients:   Small City Winners -Kinston, NC—Digital Equity Corps -Michigan City, IN—Michigan City Digital Revitalization Initiative -White Plains, NY—Project Digital Jumpstart -York, PA—Digital Equity for Justice-Impacted Residents Medium-Sized City Winners -Cleveland, OH—REC-N-TEC -Little Rock, AR—Digital Skills Growth Program: Technology Advancement for Digital Academic and Healthcare Careers -Richmond, VA—Strategic Opportunities Leading to Valuable Experiences Large City Winners -Charlotte, NC—UNTechCLT -Los Angeles, CA—CareerConnect -Portland, OR—Digital Equity Service Corps At Comcast, we know that closing the digital divide is essential to advancing economic mobility across the country.
