🏫How can Schools, SCBHC's and #ADHD technology work together with families to improve and bolster kiddos? Expert Evelyn Polk Green shares "By harnessing technology-driven testing tools, educators can tailor strategies that enhance school performance and behavior in the classroom with peers." 🎒She continues on the importance of 'emotional well being and academic success,' kids need a well rounded, whole person view. 🗣️We must advocate for coverage for mental and behavioral health for ALL children. 🚸“SBHCs provide primary care and behavioral health services for students with Medicaid, no insurance, and occasionally private insurance on school campuses nationwide,” says my colleague Ashlea Johnson, LCSW at Summit Mental Health Services and clinical advisor at Qbtech See my link in the comments on how you can help. ⚽For more on this, see Lindsay Ayearst, PhD post on the recent evidence of what I hoped would be common sense - showing the importance of letting kids move especially during school days. https://lnkd.in/eFYf6krT #mentalhealth #schoolbasedhealth #behavioralhealth #healthcareforall

OCTOBER ➡️ADHD AWARENESS MONTH (TIPS AND TOOLS) School is well underway and Parent Teacher Conferences are around the corner. Here are 8 Essential Questions to Ask at Your Next Parent-Teacher Conference (ADHD Parent Edition) to ensure you have a full understanding of your child’s progress and how to best support them. ❓What factors are used to determine the grades? It’s important to understand how grades are assessed. Are grades based on academic performance alone, or do they also include participation, effort, or behavior? ❓How do standardized test scores compare to classroom performance? Ask how your child’s recent test scores (e.g., benchmarks) align with their overall academic progress and identify any areas that may need more focus. ❓Ask for examples of recent work? Reviewing a variety of assignments will offer insights into your child’s strengths and challenges in different areas. ❓How is their classroom behavior? Discuss how your child handles focus, transitions, and any behavioral concerns that might impact their learning. ❓Has there been any progress or decline over time? Understand if your child’s performance is improving, declining, or remaining consistent to identify trends or concerns early on. ❓How are their social interactions with peers and adults? Social engagement is crucial. Find out if your child has friends, if they are included, and how they interact with both peers and teachers. ❓What questions does my child want answered? Speaking to your child beforehand allows you to address any concerns or curiosities they have, giving them a voice in the conversation. ❓ Are there any questions you have for me? Building a strong partnership with the teacher is key. Offering your insights or addressing any teacher concerns will foster collaboration. 💡Stay Child-Focused When addressing any concerns, focus on your child’s experience rather than specific incidents or issues. Keeping the conversation centered on their well-being ensures a productive and solution-focused dialogue. By focusing on your child and maintaining a collaborative mindset, you can work together with educators to ensure the best outcome for your child’s academic and social development. Follow Tawana L. It’s not enough to apply generic strategies and hope for the best. Neurodivergent children need educators who deeply understand how their unique brains work, what motivates them, and how they learn best. Without this specialised knowledge, academic support can fall short, causing more harm than good. At NeuroMe, we’ve crafted a curriculum specifically designed for neurodivergent learners, with educators who truly “get” neurodiversity. It’s more than just support—it’s transformative, empowering, and built for success. #NeuroMe #Neurodiversity #SpecialisedSupport #PDA #SpecialEducation #ASD #ODD #southafrica #neurodiversitysupport #Anxiety #ADHD #Dyslexia #Autism #education #AuDHD #OCD #tourettesyndrome #ADHDGirls #Homeschooling
