SDRs don't work for AEs.... In fact, AEs should work for SDRs. If you're in a position to have an SDR helping you crack meetings you need to point them in the right direction with the right messaging and use cases. SDRs aren't your assistants. They're the tip of the spear. Cole Praver 🙌 #sales
Its a team sport.
How would an AE work for an SDR? “I would like you to go and close that deal”?
I think I'm an SDR and an AE !
I LOVE this…when you have the right AE and SDR paired, you are an unstoppable team! Shoutout to my AEs who kept me in the loop with every account to go after! If I was not the binding to their account book- we should not be paired together!
Then why is there such a massive differential in base salaries? This trend is super frustrating.
Thank you!! 👏👏👏👏 When used properly, we can do awesome things! When used like VA's, we can't do anything.
Great post! If I may add this is a partnership Darin Alpert
I agree! My days of being an SDR, I remember great AE's like Brendan Walsh, Ariana von Anrep who took the time to understand how I earned commish as an SDR (some AEs don't), and they would teach me things in the sales cycle, and at times let me take the reign, also helped me out when I was struggling with targets, which helped me become a better targeted SDR, in return I was always happy to go after the accounts they pointed me in the direction of, and the high-fives when things came in, felt like a team effort! I also loved sharing prospecting techniques and how I broke into accounts, and they could do the same! In short, they work together to help each other earn and learn!

9moAEs must transit from acting like managers to becoming more like coaches. SDRs aren't there to simply save your time. But rather, to enrich the time you invest with prospects. Train them, trust them, leverage their skills. The ROI will speak volumes.
